  1. Please be scoring goals tomorrow.

  3. Lolz. (not the propping up the table bit - that's unfortunate...)
  4. And splitting us into two separate teams playing in different leagues. Yeah - sorry TRO, that's a terrible analogy!
  5. Just seen the stat that the Derby Forest fixture has featured 10 different managers over the last 5 meetings (albeit 2 of those are McLaren). Wow.
  6. Good results tonight...It's happening! (It's not happening) *But it might. Maybe... But it won't.
  7. Was checking to see why we didn't try to sell him instead and wiki says contract to Aug '18, though 2 year loan deal till then. Not quite sure what that means in terms of using him / selling him though. A bit more shopping for Steve then, I guess.
  8. I wouldn't mind giving Sanchez another go in the Jedi role next year, but yeah agree we need a relatively quiet summer (despite that being less exciting).
  9. Did a predictor base on us winning them all and and 6th place got 77pts.
  10. [I really hope it's a promotion 'charge'!] I'm not too bothered by those coming down. Sunderland will be the same as us this season - mid-table at best. Boro might be top 6 challenging, but will need a complete re-build so could also implode. Hull/Palace/Swansea/Leicester - would be likely to lose key players if they drop. Probably be challengers but can't see any of them bossing the league. That leaves 8 current teams above us (ex the 3 promoted). I think we are now already better than most of them and as we have the capacity to strengthen and improve more over the summer I expect to be challenging for top 2 throughout. Sort out the away form (ideally with a few early soft fixtures) and break the TV hoodoo and it's on.
  11. This one not really grabbing people's interest?

  13. I hope it is mounting a challenge to win the thing, not hit top 6. Top 2 should be the only target. If we're out of the top 6 after a couple of months it'll be time for a change. (Unless we screw up the rest of this season, in which case the change should come in the summer).
  14. Must win game - minimum of 3 points required to keep that last play-off spot miracle happening. Or meaningless draw, with small signs of improvement. Steve Bruce thread continues the never-ending circle of stability vs out. Or depressing loss following impressive start, hitting the woodwork and then individual brainfart. Bruce out. Take your pick.
  15. ^ I liked that except for the confident part. Def take a draw going into this.

  17. Going into those games, we had the poorest from in the league, and pretty much the country. So, no it's not terribly impressive, but it was by no means expected. Sadly.
  18. All true, but (another one) however you look at it we have thrown away more careless points than anyone else, particularly RDM's draws. I'd argue we are (at least) 10 points better than our current league position. The table doesn't lie, but it does distort. We aren't relegation fodder. We've screwed up this season royally, and I reckon we'll be kicking ourselves come seasons end at what could have been.
  19. Wasn't the stat 11 points from goal keeping howlers as well. Could have comfortably made the playoffs with a) a decent keeper and b ) concentrating for the last 5 minutes of games. Lessons for next year I suppose...

  21. There are 'methods' of coaching that once were accepted, (if not acceptable), that now are not. See Shane Sutton at British Cycling for details. If you don't adapt your style and methods to keep up with the times you become at least irrelevant and at worst guilty of bullying / racism / sexism / xenophobia - whatever. Without knowing any details, my impression of K Mac from his period as interim manager was that he is well past his sell-by date.
  22. We need a minimum of three points here.
  23. Had to come to and end at some point...but that's a Villa-away-on-Sky performance. We go again...
