  1. Whelan, Jedi and Elmo all have for sale signs on them now as well. Will be interesting to see if the more advanced kids - Green, RHM etc decide whether to stay and take their chance to shine or to get out of this basket case of a club to somewhere where they know they'll get paid every month.
  2. So with the glass still with some dregs in, I hope that with immediate finances saved, someone comes in with an offer that is enough for Tony to consider and therefore the sales go on hold while it gets negotiated. The empty glass thinks that with the immediate finances saved, we'll have an everything must go sale. Maybe get up to £40m including some property going. With the heavily reduced outgoings that will allow us to stagger on for maybe another year. Grim.
  3. Not generally a good idea and it will be at a punishing interest rate, but if Tony is confident he'll eventually get money out of China then at least it solves the immediate problem. Who knows whats really going on though...
  4. If I scraped together a grand to chuck in, knowing that it would immediately disappear to pay Micah for a couple of hours of doing nothing would make me weep. So no thanks.
  5. To be fair, he's probably quite busy today what with one thing and another...
  6. Yes. I'd much rather this than trying to sell everything from the staff car park to Jack just to keep control. Need to call it a day.
  7. Except that, (if the Mirror article is to be believed and I acknowledge that's a stretch), he's been pumping in £5-6m per month to keep everything running for the last 2 years up till last month. Whether that is because of China money laws or lack of cash we don't know, but doesn't sound like a leveraged buyout to me.
  8. Well - at least the odds are improving for my annual £5 down the toilet win the league bet.
  9. At least this Freund fella has a track record of involvement with sports teams so should have a better idea of what he's doing. If the bid comes to anything...
  10. A prospective takeover would stop any major incomings, but more importantly outgoings. They wouldn't be able to sell Jack if a sale is in process as he's such a major asset. It hopefully works in our favour. (smallest of sliver linings). I think there is also slight relaxing of FFP with regard to new owners.
  11. ...and we thought it was going to be a quiet off season.
  12. That's what I read from the sky report posted earlier. Wyeness has gone for fishing for buyers behind Tony's back. Why he was doing that is another question. There are clearly, at best, cashflow issues, at worst deeper problems. I'm sure once the far east wake up we'll hear more.
  13. Bielsa and Leeds sounds like the most toxic partnership ever. Will end in tears.
  14. I'd keep Bruce. If he goes I fear a domino effect - Terry, Jack to follow him out... To keep most of this group together we need SB. We were close, so close.
  15. Come on Steve. This is your time to put all that experience to work. Bring it home.
  16. It'll be tense enough for us, but can you imagine watching the match knowing it's worth hundreds of millions to you personally. Last 10 minutes...penalties? Crikey - not sure I'd survive.
  17. I think FFP is based on 3 years including forecast for the season ahead, so effectively you can spend what you know you'll be getting (balanced against gates, salaries, sponsorship etc, etc) though obviously it's prudent not to blow everything in case you yoyo. Edit - not what you asked... I don't imagine you get it up front as much of it depends on appearances and final position. So I guess Tony will have to dip in - but deals will be structured over a couple of years in any case.
  18. Completely agree. Pretty sure it'll be Jedi to start but if we're chasing the game Thor to come on.
  19. If / when we get promoted the football with Bruce won't get any more 'attractive '. We'll be playing for survival to start with so it'll be defence first. Means to an end innit.
  20. The bit at the end epitomises what Bruce has done for the club. He's the main reason Terry is here and Terry is one of the main reasons Jack has flourished this season IMO.
  21. Going to be such a loooooong wait!
  22. 'Big Wembley pitch' is 1m wider than VP, and the same length. 2m longer than Craven Cottage, but same width. Not sure it's going to have much impact.
