Back line looks fairly ridiculous playing everyone out of position - just seems unnecessary.
Looks surprisingly aggressive further forward - hope it works.
I just hope the expected release clause is big enough that we don't have a Gana situation come the end of the season and he goes for buttons, but given where we were a few weeks ago we should be grateful for another season (at least). Let's hope it's a moot point come May.
What would be great any time now is a statement from Jack. Hope he's in with whoever's in charge these days finalising a juicy new contract and confirms it all shortly.
Why would we be trying to get him to lodge a transfer request - we want to keep him. If it was just about more money, we would have carried on negotiating, not come out and said he was staying.
With the sudden burst of transfer activity it was clear a decision had been made. Very sad to see him go, but also intrigued to see how he does in the future. Hope it's stellar.
Now let's use the £ wisely and move on with a new team.
I'd really prefer we had our own decent scouting system rather than having to rely on the pool of one agent with his own agenda, particularly when his first picks will presumably be wolves bound. But if its a short term thing, balanced with a couple of experienced players (eg snodgrass), while we sort the backroom out then I'm OK with it.
Just do it for a year's deal. £4-5m in for FFP. If we go up (LOL) either get a new deal for more / forget about it as we're in the money. If we stay down do it again if needed, if back in shape don't bother. It doesn't have to mean losing Villa Park forever. I'd take that over, say, selling Chester.
