  1. Back line looks fairly ridiculous playing everyone out of position - just seems unnecessary. Looks surprisingly aggressive further forward - hope it works.
  2. Should be quite some reception for Jack. Would love to ha e witnessed that.
  3. That would be so good. I'm delighted by the obvious love he has for this club. Villa in all but actual contract.
  4. Can't help but think that we've signed German comedian Henning When...
  5. I think whatever else you can knock Bruce for, his handling of Jack has been really good to date - don't think I'm going to be concerned about that.
  6. Spurs are the first PL club to have bought no players in a summer window since it was introduced. Lulz.
  7. I like that Sherwood still thinks it's going to happen. Such a massive asshat.
  8. I just hope the expected release clause is big enough that we don't have a Gana situation come the end of the season and he goes for buttons, but given where we were a few weeks ago we should be grateful for another season (at least). Let's hope it's a moot point come May.
  9. 'Reports' (and I use that loosely) that Spurs are going after Sessegnon now. Good luck with that bargain Mr Levy.
  10. Well, 3 weeks ago I expected this thread to get to about 15 pages. Mostly about how to shift Tish, McCormack and Micah. What a pleasant surprise.
  11. Fair enough - thought he was more of a striker. Hard to keep up with the last few days!
  12. Success is no Tammy Abraham, but hope he kicks on here.
  13. What would be great any time now is a statement from Jack. Hope he's in with whoever's in charge these days finalising a juicy new contract and confirms it all shortly.
  14. Why would we be trying to get him to lodge a transfer request - we want to keep him. If it was just about more money, we would have carried on negotiating, not come out and said he was staying.
  15. With the sudden burst of transfer activity it was clear a decision had been made. Very sad to see him go, but also intrigued to see how he does in the future. Hope it's stellar. Now let's use the £ wisely and move on with a new team.
  16. ... So he'll only make one place difference? ? Sell the bugger then.
  17. I was a bit nervous about his lack of any significant playing time anywhere, but Portugal u19, u20 and u21s is pretty decent. Hope he works out.
  18. Well, yes. By no means perfect, but if his head has been turned it's not going to be easy to persuade him to sign.
  19. New contract, £50m buyout to Champions league clubs only, big salary increase, team built around him. Please thankyou.
  20. I'd really prefer we had our own decent scouting system rather than having to rely on the pool of one agent with his own agenda, particularly when his first picks will presumably be wolves bound. But if its a short term thing, balanced with a couple of experienced players (eg snodgrass), while we sort the backroom out then I'm OK with it.
  21. 29 appearances over 2 different loan spells. Doesn't sound first team ready.
  22. Just do it for a year's deal. £4-5m in for FFP. If we go up (LOL) either get a new deal for more / forget about it as we're in the money. If we stay down do it again if needed, if back in shape don't bother. It doesn't have to mean losing Villa Park forever. I'd take that over, say, selling Chester.
