  1. On the one hand, I'd be surprised if he goes now. Purslow has only just got here so hasn't had much time to find a replacement, it's 'only one loss' in the league, Bolasie and Abraham haven't played yet. On the other hand I think he should. I've been pretty much on the fence. Wasn't excited about him coming in, but could see the reasons. Prior to this season he has done a lot of good - morale was rebuilt, he pulled us back from doing a Sunderland and last season we were 'there or thereabouts'. Not good enough, but close. But it's become increasingly clear he is (like Big Sam) a 12-18 month manager. There was no long term rebuild - it was all in for last season. Where he really lost me was starting to replace players he bought in - never a thought or attempt to improve those we have - it's always buy someone else. And we're not in a position to buy significantly better players where we are so it's just piling in more of virtually the same. Too much churn. My feeling is that this season the new owners told him that they want a more attacking mindset in the club - no more setting up not to lose - which is more befitting our status and financial position in this league. He persuaded them that he could deliver this and they've backed him with players to do that (for the front half of the pitch). He's tried / trying to do this but is so far outside his comfort zone that it's going tits up. Bruce and NSWE will know his time is running out, but as per my first point, he will probably get the next run of games though for me there's a huge risk that the season will be gone by then.
  2. As I never have any idea of the side Bruce will pick, or how they will perform I guess I'll wait and see. 3-0 or 0-3 or 2-2 (or possibly another score).
  3. JT back and I will be very happy with our business - especially considering we were looking at zero movement and under a transfer embargo a few weeks back.
  4. Very pleased with this. Welcome Tammy.
  5. Unless they're not playing when they become amazing again.
  6. That is (should be) a really strong side for a second string.
  7. Green doesn't even make the bench.
  8. We need to continue this improvement tomorrow. No QPR post Wolves performance. Take it to Reading and give them a hiding and show what we can do. There's a bit of pressure on places now. Another few days of understanding at the back so hopefully defence will be improved but we should be putting down our marker on the league. We've had a nice softish start and need to take advantage of that.
  9. Don't seem to be very good at this version of the game!
  10. Hmm. Hope for 3 points but will steer clear of the match thread I think.
  11. If he's not going to get time here, it's a good move. Hope he continues to develop - I think he's got a bright future.
  12. Spot on IMO. I'm prepared to give Bruce a few more weeks to sort things out (by Brentford ideally!). His strength is defence. That has been all over the place so far with 3 completely different sets of players, including 3 different keepers, but I am confident he will sort this out because that's what he does. I can the idea behind Jedi at CB, but it hasn't worked and hope it's not persevered with. A settled back 5 for a run of games (which are still pretty soft apart from Brentford) and I'm sure the understandings will start to tighten it up. It's not ideal, particularly if we have another new player to drop in there at some point, but our off-season was a disaster so we are playing catch up. The midfield and attack v Wigan was pretty aggressive. It's a problem that Kodjia's not scoring and Adomah's form is continuing from the back half of last season, not the first half: (I would have been happy to see him go as I don't think he has another season like that in him). Get a new striker in and with Grealish, McGinn and Green creating and BB and Conor chipping in with goals from midfield we should be frightening teams. 6 goals in our first 2 league games suggest something going right, but masses more potential. So yeah, it's another 'he needs a bit more time' from me, but the results (despite performances) buy him this time for now.
  13. Its 8 loans allowed in total, 5 in the matchday squad.
  14. We're allowed 8 loans. Only 5 in a match squad.
  15. Maybe that's why they designed it to look like a toilet...
  16. Blimey - Wouldn't have Grealish anywhere near this.
  17. Why the heck not...the more the merrier, I say.
  18. Complete supposition, but given that our FFP worries seem to be sort of behind us, I wonder if we have said to the EFL that Nas & Wes can cover paying them both off as they will never play for us again for mental/injury reasons and they are letting that go through as an exceptional payment. Don't know if that is allowed, but there is something in the rules about showing that you have a plan to bring things under control IIRC.
