  1. We have a massive pot, but have done all the pissing we're allowed to until we get promoted when it's time for a 5 pinter.

    The NSWE Board

This week would be good, then we can bring the new manager in over the break. The clocks ticking...
  3. I couldn't care less. It will be nonsense, but won't matter at all as he'll be chip wrapping by then.
  4. Tbf it's not like we've been trailing along in 15th for all those 90 games. Otherwise he would have been binned. We did get to 2nd briefly! He needs to go now though. His chance is over.
  5. 15th now.... Getting quite far away from even thereabouts I'd say.
  6. No-one knows how we'll line up... Usually signals an amazing performance out of nowhere. 4-0 villa.
  7. One of the things that annoys me about Bruce is taking the underdog mentality. We are bigger and better than nearly all the championship clubs and should be going out to dominate like Citeh / Utd do. It won't always work - everyone loses at times - but we should be looking to impose our gameplan (lol) on others and making them adapt to us. Especially at home.
  8. Nope. I think it's likely we will have a run of wins at some point - but that won't be down to a sudden 'winning formula', it'll be down to players hitting form individually (see Albert last year). If Bruce were to stay I see a re-run of last season, but slightly worse. Maybe scrape into 5th/6th. We're worse, but so is the league. We have potential to be better than that if only we had a manager who could use it.
  9. Bruce is an 18 month manager. First 6 months he solidified us. That's a plus. Arguably could have got more out of the side after Jan additions. Last season - added short term quality. Got close, but ultimately failed, and even had we gone up we'd be getting thumped now with either a below PL standard squad or complete rebuild. Should have gone in the summer if it wasn't for the off-field clusterf*ck. This season - a lower quality repeat version of last. No building on where we were, no progression, just try again with new players, with many of the last lot he bought jettisoned as if they were the problem. I can see why, given the summers financial issues and late takeover, he was retained, though by all accounts he was asked to make us more sustainable long term and attractive. Outside his comfort zone this is clearly failing. He is a one trick pony and that pony looks like it ready for the knacker's yard. Even if we have another winning streak, get back up challenging etc - we've got nothing long term in place. I can only assume and hope we'll have a DoF in place in the next couple of weeks and new manager during the next international break. We have enough quality in a pretty crap league to still pull off promotion with a proper visionary manager from here but can't afford to slip back much further. Time's up - let's move forward.
  10. Whether he performs or not this season (and IMO he will when we have a new manager and play to our and his strengths), signing a new contract ensures the club doesn't lose out if/when we do sell him. We will get full value now - his form will define that value.
  11. Is Moreira injured or dropped? Surprised Albert's starting but I'm always ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ when the teams announced.
  12. Don't want to burn the young lad out!
  13. All the above is true and therefore we will see a midfield featuring both Whelan and Jedi.
  14. Dear God. I know we are in desperate times but Sherwood revisionism? He was a useless charlatan who will never manage again. And I use 'manage' in the loosest possible way.

    John Terry

Plus he knows Tammy and recommend him to come here. Would be invaluable for the leadership and influence alone. Groom Axel to rotate with him and all good.
  16. Given the state we're in now I'd have JT straight back. Not least for leadership that is so obviously lacking*, and his influence on Jack and Tammy*. If he could nurture Axel* into the role to rotate with him so much the better. * It becoming obvious that Bruce is seemingly unable to do these things.
  17. Would be very happy to see this move out of 'other football'.
  18. My thought too. Apparently Arsenal were very impressed by him. Always some risk in a first appointment but would be one worth taking if he could be persuaded to come.
  19. Big Sam is a stop you going down manager, not a get you up manager IMO. Bruce was a short term fix choice and hasn't worked. Don't want another one.
