    The NSWE Board

Shrewd move financially it seems. Hopefully includes buyback clauses when/if they move on though.
  2. Excellent news. Shows we have some solid and hopefully exciting plans in place
  3. I'd love you to be right - would be very happy with mid-table.
  4. Pleased that we've got a good time to bed Wes into the squad.
  5. This is going to be such an exciting summer. No-one knows what our recruitment team are up to or how much we're going to spaff. Hope there will be a few more random Wesley's. And hope to McGrath they work out.
  6. Looks reasonably balanced. Be good to get some points on the board through Aug/Sept so it's not too tense in Oct. Do Dean's teams tend to start well? Have to say though - there are so few games compared to the championship! Seems to be mostly 3 month.
  7. I can live with the puns, but can the Brentford chat **** off somewhere else please thank you.
  8. I really hope that we don't have a fixed overall kitty - "here's £100m spend it how you like, Dean. When it's gone, it's gone". It will be discussed and agreed by position/player. IF they've identified that we need to spend £15-20m on a keeper, that doesn't mean there's only £10m left for 4 outfield players. There will be £xm for a DM, £ym for a LB and £zm for a forward. You target specific players at a budget that stacks up to what you agree to spend overall. Each signing is independent of the others. And none of us have any idea what the budget is likely to be.
  9. Does it have to be said every transfer season? - signings don't come in order of priority! If we buy a new keeper it is because that deal was available and right. It does not mean that a striker is less important or now won't happen. Deals are worked on concurrently but some are easier than others to get done. Can depend on player and agent availability, replacements down the chain etc.
  10. I'm not sure why anyone is talking about this. All the twitter chat was specifically about Ashley. Sad, but true.
  11. With Hause and Roofe we could really be building towards something.
  12. That's a hell of a lot of experience gone. Hope we bring in some new and not all younger types. Looks like we have a plan, which is nice for once.
  13. Perfect thanks. So we were still 3rd best over the second half of the season. Not going to be easy in the PL.
  14. David Bradley - Filch from the Harry Potter movies. Some funny clips of fans singing to him on his twitter feed.
  15. Does anyone know what the table would look like from starting in Jan? That's when we had remedied the defence and DS could properly start. Interested to see how we compare to Norwich and Sheffield over that time.
  16. Aim to make VP a fortress and win the 13 home games against the also rans. Add in a few away wins. Grab the odd draw against the top six. Simple.
  17. Strikes me that Mings was very much a moneyball signing (albeit on loan) - dodgy injury record that wasn't as bad as it seemed and therefore significantly undervalued. No one expected him to perform like he has. I expect a few more of this type that don't immediately seem exciting but have the potential to overachieve vs outlay. Hopefully allowing us to splash out on one or two more marquee signings.
  18. I'd like loanees + 3-4 new. Happy with moneyball (mcginn) types, but I'd also really like 1 of those to be a marquee name signing to show future intent. Please.
  19. ... And some coverage in the national papers, plus motd - more than 15 second highlights.
  20. Just wait till the table at the beginning of August... We'll be second!
