  1. Probably not our best ever run but we managed 8 in all competition under Gregory. I mentioned before no team seemed to win more than 7 in a row this season and last. That would take us to the Bristol City game.
  2. I mentioned it before but I think one of the reasons he has excelled is he has Grealish and Mcginn constantly tracking to support him. He struggles when he is pressed or isolated by pacey players. When we are on the front foot he can sit in that deeper position and pick up lose balls to keep the pressure on. He is playing in a very intelligent way at the moment which is manageable for his age because he is reading the game so well.
  3. Playing 180 minutes in the previous week may have been a deciding factor to rest him. We have good options at the moment with Whelan coming in to some form. it’s great to see.
  4. When a teams manages 37% possession and 1 shot on goal away to Stoke. We should hopefully be way too good for them.
  5. Not a bad player to have on the bench either!!
  6. I’d still stay with Steer. Still feel a lot more confident with him in goal despite that error. I think the defence feel confident with him behind them too.
  7. Sheff Wed will likely play deep and close the space. Not look to press and let us play in front of them. We will have to be on our game in terms of keeping possession as they will be looking to counter attack at any opportunity. If we score first I think we will win comfortably. Otherwise could see a frustrating 0-0. They’ve had 4 0-0’s out of 11 games since Bruce took over.
  8. I wouldn’t be concerned though mate. If we were not getting in to good positions or creating chances id be more worried.
  9. Looking at out last 6 games we’ve won 5 drawn 1 scoring 14 and conceding 3. No team will want to play us right now.
  10. I think the key is how we replace them. Norwich lost their two best players but were able to cope. As long as we have money to spend in the summer I’m confident about next season with or without Jack.
  11. Mate you sometimes have to realise we are a championship team and also respect there’s an opposition that are playing quite well. If you want perfection every week you are better off supporting Man City. I honestly couldnt see anything to concern me too much from that game apart from shit finishing, a keeper error, and a motm performance from the opposition keeper.
  12. He controlled the game for me without doing anything spectacular. Such a quality player. His performance was Modricesque
  13. It’s because we are attacking and defending as a team so he is not getting over run in the middle. For once there’s no passengers. Jack and Mcginn are always close by when we lose the ball. When it was Whelan and Hourihane he would get more exposed. Whelan has always read the game well and done the simple things effectively. He struggled when he got isolated against pace.
  14. Why is everyone saying Derby have an easy run. Brentford, Blackburn and Birmingham away is far from easy!
  15. You’re right. It is now in our hands. I like that.
  16. Considering he was our last manager for 2 years you’ll continue to get the comparisons I’m afraid. I only mow mention him in reference to how he deliberately f**ked us over and how he is now turning Sheff Wed in to a very dull team. Edit: I should say tried to f**k us over.
  17. I think it was better for the simple reason Blackburn were better. Boro and Derby were just garbage.
  18. And we would have on several occasions has the finishing been better. Trust you to find something to worry about edit: at times we could have got the ball in quicker but i prefer this approach to the old aimless cross at any opportunity that we’ve seen for years.
  19. It was one touch around the area. Whilst it wasn’t perfect and would break down at times it was great to see the players try to play that way. This has clearly been coached and instructed. Of course Jack was always the architect of it all.
  20. I also think we’re only going to get better.
  21. Strange isn’t it I haven’t seen us play one touch stuff like we did today in years. Maybe...just maybe, training and coaching a new way of playing takes time.
  22. The one touch stuff around the box is a joy to watch. The work off the field is starting to pay off.
  23. Was a mistake but the free kick shouldn’t happen and the wall has to be jumping. I’d still keep him in goal. edit. I see some players in wall did jump but it seemed to go through them.
  24. Yep. Hopefully they stay where they are.
