For all their dominance second half they managed 3 shots on target all game. One was a goal and one was a missed penalty! It would be nice to see their goal from a different angle. Looked offside to me.

OP said we would lose Mcginn, Hause, Mings and Grealish if we didn’t go up. I don’t think those that joined did so on the condition we must go up this season. So my point was just because we don’t go up it doesn’t mean we will not be able to attract players of this type quality anymore. Wolves were proof of that. Costa, Carvello , Bennet and Coady stayed whilst Neves, Jota and Boli joined. (Agree 2 on loan with option to buy but all three new additions could easily have gone straight to a premier league club). Even though they faced relegation the season before they could still attract this kind of talent because a) they could afford to pay them and b) they could convince them they would get promoted. Why can’t we do the same? edit: I just realised I missed out the word ‘ ‘before’ on my previous post so can see why it didn’t make sense

Im not so sure Tro. When Smith took over I actually thought the season was over because it would take a while for him to get them playing his way and the state of the defence. The new manager bounce gave a bit of false hope. We have progressed a lot faster than I thought we would but if we don’t go up I trust Smith to build a team to challenge for top 2. Yes we will lose Jack but Norwich have shown you can loss your stand out best player but still compete as long as you spend wisely.

I hope not. The back 5 look extremely settled and comfortable together and whilst I appriecate Kalanic is our long term option I really don’t think we should be changing anything right now.

Bruce mentioned getting us to the playoff final was one of his biggest achievements due to our financial constraints. I wish somebody would show him what our wage bill was next time he says that. Really hope football prevails tomorrow.
