Well if that’s the case probably best to not loan out your only other fit centre half, your number 2 goalie when he is better than your number 1, and a young up and coming winger. He didn’t exactly help his own cause.

Ok this is getting boring now. You think Bruce did a good job but made ‘mistakes’ in his last season. I think he did a good job but completely lost the plot in his last season which was so out of character it was beyond calling it ‘mistakes’. Now I’m off to get my head checked so we’ll leave it at that.

Wow you really are insulting Steve Bruce without even realising it! If the way he left our defence was simply down to mistakes then he really is the shitest manager we’ve had in years if not ever!! Plus I read the Sun mate. Not a fan of the daily mail.

I think you are naive for thinking it’s only a select few on here that are not fans of Steve Bruce. I think it’s more likely a select a few on here that always feel the need to defend him for some strange reason. Also last time I looked it was a Steve Bruce thread. Isn’t it the place to share our opinions of him? Finally, a hundred years from now the world will remember the name vive_la_villa Do not forget that!

So you don’t think all his strange behaviour was deliberate? He really is that poor of a manager he couldn’t see that letting the transfer window close with that defence and goalkeeper was going to be a disaster? I actually beleive he is a better manager than that.

Maybe if he left in the summer. His negligence this season to engineer the sack will always leave a sour taste.

The thing I hate about modern day football is when a manager knows his days are numbered he will just wait for the sack. He no longer wants the job so his hearts not in it, the players want him gone, the fans want him gone. But the owners won’t act because of the payout. It just ends up leading to a few wasted months like with Lambert and Bruce. You can’t really blame the managers for waiting for the sack. The compensation amounts are ridiculous.

I can’t beleive out the 14 players that featured for both teams tonight’s city’s players cost around 30 million more in total. Man U’s recruitment has been shocking.

@screwdriver you can criticise a managers actions even when we’ve won. Nothing wrong with that. But when we’ve just won 10 in a row you really are clutching at straws mate.

I’d have thought games A and B are pre determined by final position. Our game being B as things currently stand.

I was thinking the same thing. They looked so flat. It felt like Brentford would score from every break. Whoever finishes 6th will fancy their chances against them over 2 legs. We may have the harder tie against Albion.

I think he played well but he has still lost that yard of pace for me. Even when he was taking people on it seemed like slow motion. He is definitely more comfortable as a lone striker than on the wing though.

I personally thought they beat us at Villa park because we had a makeshift defence of 3 right backs,a crocked centre half and a league 1 level goalkeeper.

We haven’t actually confirmed 5th yet although I can’t see Derby winning their last 3.

If we win our next 2 and Albion lost to derby we finish 4th. Is first leg away worth going all out in the next 2 games? I’m not sure it is.

I think he looked sharp when he came on yesterday. I really like the look of him. Has something about him.
