  1. Ok let’s break this down. Onomah wasn’t our player, that’s why he got stick when poor. Ayew had an attitude problem, Adomah is just a very average player, Kodija doesn’t work hard enough and Benteke was worshiped!! I think a better example would be Elmo, always been consistent for us yet got a ridiculous amount of stick at times. I remember some labelling him as the worst player we’ve ever had.
  2. Hourihane got absolutely destroyed recently. Is it because he is Irish? Do not underestimate the power of the sub conscious mind.
  3. It could be. I do feel that way about Elmo sometimes. But in regards to Hogan I think some fans are forgiving because they feel he tries. Kodija on the hand can look very lethargic at times. No fan will forgive a player that doesn’t give his all.
  4. He just doesn’t have the legs for it in my opinion.
  5. Overall I wouldn’t say goals are his problem and if that’s all you need from your striker he’s probably good enough. Problem for me is we play a high press so we need our striker to lead this. Tammy does it superbly, Kodija and Davis not so much. Edit: Smith is working with the players he has inherited. I doubt Kodija would be one that he would go out sign if he had the chance. I also think he will be allowed to leave in the summer.
  6. I’d switch Green for Adomah. I think he’s a much better player. The rest I agree with.
  7. If start with the team I hope we do on Saturday there will only be 2 players in the team that featured in last years final. It’s a completely different team.
  8. I’d argue he has been good about 50% of the time he has been here. First half of last season and second part of this. I would like to see him start in the playoffs. It suits him to have runners like Grealish and Mcginn next to him so he doesn’t get exposed. But I guess it’s all about opinions.
  9. True but at the time we were 5 points off. For me I gave up after the Albion game. I think any player we sign from now will be on the assumption they will also be able to play in the top flight. It’s pointless building a championship team to go up and then to strip it apart. It rarely works.
  10. Are you sure about that? We couldn’t have been that far off.
  11. I believe their recruitment was very good when Jesus was DoF there.
  12. So does our DOF if Atletico Madrid is anything to go by.
  13. I’ve said a few times but I just don’t think he has that yard of pace anymore. He is still ok for this level and has contributed to goals so fair play to him. But I think he should be sold regardless of what league we are in next season.
  14. It’s another reason we are one of the favourites to win the playoffs.
  15. I would say we were very direct. Which was great until we went behind and defences shut up shop. We then struggled to break them down. The great thing about us last season was we rarely conceded in the last 15 minutes. So if we had a lead we could be confident we would win the game. The great thing about us this season is we’ve managed 29 points from losing positions which shows fantastic character. It’s the most in the league. We can be confident even if we go behind we are still well and truly in the game.
  16. Oh I agree. I said as such when many turned on him around Jan / Feb time. He knows what he is doing.
  17. I have to agree with @villalad21 for once. We did have an identity under Bruce. Any player that came in knew they had to get behind the ball and try and play on the counter. We had become known as being very hard to beat. Unfortunately It was generally very boring to watch and if we went behind there was no plan b.
  18. Agree with the first 11. I think that’s our strongest team.
  19. Ajax really screwed that up. Just keep the ball instead of trying to be hero’s. A more experienced player likeTadic should have known better. Expect Liverpool to beat Spurs comfortably in the final.
  20. Maybe. I’m sure he mainly played left back for us though.
  21. Yeah but to be fair it was a click bait article that took all the criticism from twitter and put it on one site. Going by Villatalk and Dean Smith it sounds like he did well which is good to hear. I think he’s a decent player at this level just had horrendous luck with injuries.
  22. The crowd played a big part in that result. We need something similar at villa park on Saturday to take a good lead back to Hawthorns. There’s no away goal rule so don’t need to be weary of them scoring. Let’s do a 4-1 on them!
  23. The first goal was a classic example of why he will probably never play for us again. Where on earth was he? He’s been a good servant that in most cases gave his best. Wish him all the best.
  24. So how did he play on Sunday? I’m seeing mixed reviews. If he is over his injury problems he could be an important player for us next season if we are stuck in this league.
  25. Top 8? That’s a bit random. I guess the top 6 fans probably see us as a small nobody club as well.
