I’ve said it before but I really like him. Head and shoulders above Adomah. I really don’t get the criticism he gets at times. The only reason I could see Adomah ever starting ahead of him is due to him being a more defensively minded player.

It can be difficult in pressure games against a team that has parked the bus. Look at City against Burnley and Leicester. They kept having to try and force it leading to misplaced paces and errors. Frustration kicks in but you have to remain patient and just keep probing. Tonight there should be so much more space for us to play our game. Edit: in the past we would have resorted to aimlessing crossing the ball at any opportunity. Food and drink for the Albion defence. Also just realised this is the Mings thread! Really need him on his game tonight. Especially the first 10-15 minutes.

I never understood why he seems to always play in the Championship. Whenever he played he seemed to score. I remember him scoring a cracker against us in the top flight. Maybe he just prefers playing down here and gets a Premier League wage to go with it. As for Mings he looks like a Premier League defender. Hopefully we find out next season with him as our player.

If he was white and his name was Tammy Abraham then maybe it would be a good song to use for the fact it fits nicely. (Maybe not). But he isn’t so the song will just cause controversy. Hopefully it’s been nipped in the bud.

Just had a thought. He was quite lucky to not face a 2 game ban and would have missed out on Saturday. Little things seem to be going our way. It’s our year I tells ya!!

Not quite mate. Racism in football is a sensitive subject. Whilst the chant may not be racist it just doesn’t feel right to me.

This chants just a pure No. Knock it on the head and be done with it. We don’t even need to go in to why. Somethings just shouldn’t be done but I also don’t think a big thing should be made of it. But that’s social media for you. Please don’t tell me this was sang at Villa park?

I think we just need to play our game without being too open. Keep it tight for the first 10 minutes when they go all out to score. After that keep the ball and eventually control the game. Sooner or later they will have to take chances and we can hit them on the break. I think as long as we are clinical when we get opportunities we will win tomorrow. Sounds so simple doesn’t it ? Im absolutely shitting it.

Nah it was just a mistake. It happens and 9 times out of 10 there would be cover. It was a cracking finish by Gayle to be fair. Whelan is prone to this mistake though.

It’s not so much the fact he thinks the manager made a mistake. I have no issue with that. Its how it’s referred to as a big mistake that we got away it! As if Smith f**ked up big time but we got lucky.

We will have to disagree because I thought it was a tough choice and was leaning towards Whealan as it gives Grealish and Mcginn more listen to get forward. Turned out Albion put 10 men behind the ball and sat deep so nullified the threat of runners from midfield. If you worked out they were going to play like that from a press conference then you should be working for Bielsa mate. I do think he could have made the change sooner though.

He seems to be growing each game. I really like him. Fair play to the lad for the way he has taken his chance.

This is what really pisses me off about some fans. It’s a squad game and you pick what you think is the best team. Yes in hindsight it may have been the wrong choice and he should have changed it sooner but to label the selection of one player over another as a ‘big mistake’ is just way over the top and bordering ridiculous. It’s clear you are never going to be happy with Smith and it’s becoming really tiring to read. Just get behind the manager for a least two more games FFS.

I think with the team now trying to play a fast intense passing games his limitations as a player are being massively exposed. Him and Taylor really seem to stand out as weak leaks when we are on the attack

Gave me goosebumps hearing this. I prefer this song so much to Holte Enders in the sky. I know I’ll get crucified for this but the latter is one of the worst football chants I’ve ever heard.
