I had a bet with a few on here that had wrote off Smith around Feb time: I bet them villa will be challenging for top 2 and automatic promotion in January next season.
Im very happy I could lose that bet now.
Nah. Every occasion is different and pressure changes everything. Leeds fans were watching the game yesterday saying they fancy beating both teams in the final based on that game. It’s never that simple.
If the keeper didn’t make that error when he did Leeds would have won very comfortably.
We are better than Derby.
It’s been a fantastic season for English football. Off the back of a World Cup semi final we have 4 clubs in European finals for the first time in history.
What a fitting year for one of English football leagues founding members to return to its rightful place in the best league in the world.
We got this.
On the one hand we will create chances against Leeds or Derby. On the other hand we could struggle against an energetic high press when trying to play it out from the back as certain players just aren’t good enough to play that way. (As last night showed).
It will be an interesting game whoever we play. Hopefully it’s Derby.
But you defended him so I’m a bit confused?
So you think he’s a shit player or just had a shocker?
Either way he won’t be starting Wembley that’s for sure.
Last years was on the Saturday due to the World Cup. Give players 2 days extra rest.
Normally it’s on a bank holiday Monday though. I booked Tuesday off about a month ago.
So for the final I guess it will have to be Adomah with a choice to be made between Whelan and Hourihane. It’s a shame Hause didn’t get some games at left back near the end of the season. Taylor is so shit.
I think the occasion and crowd got to a few last night. You have to remember quite a few of them players have never played in such a game before.
Still they tried to keep the ball and play a certain way throughout against a team who’s entire plan was men behind the ball, niggly fouls to break up play and trying to score from set pieces.
We wernt at out best but we were easily the better team over 2 legs.
Bring on Leeds!!
Although Steer will get man of the match I thought Mings was good today. Some of those defensive headers were crucial. Mcginn also gave everything too.
We were so nervy at times though. It’s easy to forget this type of situation is relatively new for the likes of Steer, Axel and Mcginn.
Hopefully getting through this pressure game will help the players be more confident for Wembley.
Final post on this but as I’ve said in off topic threads. Certain ‘White British’ (hope I can say that) people that I have met are probably the least racist people I have ever met in my life. I don’t think they even realise it.
Back on topic - hatrick tonight please Tammy.
