Cahill was one of the best defenders around and played for a champions league winning team. At 33 if he has been maintaining his fitness he would do a job for any top flight team I reckon. I’d be happy if we signed him.

I got a feeling we want to sign a new keeper. But with the amount of positions we need to fill it’s probably not a priority.

I actually think they will be squad players rather than starters. They are better than a lot of the shit we had when Lambert was in charge and he kept us up for 2 seasons!

Can we start building what we think the starting 11 for the first game could be as the summer progresses and signings get confirmed. I’ll start with: ? Guilbert ? ? ? Mcginn ? Grealish Jota ? ? Have I missed any new signings out?

I agree with you mate. But In terms of athletiscm, speed of reaction, strength to parry etc. I don’t think these are Steers strengths and might be why he isn’t as rated as a keeper as he should be. But what he lacks up in those areas he more than makes up with his positioning and anticipation in my opinion.

I agree he’s a good shot stopper but as has been mentioned previously every keeper should be a good shot stopper. For me his biggest strength is his positioning. I think he reads the game well.

Suso will really need to earn his corn this summer. Looking at out squad at this moment in time. Keeping us up next season will probably be the greatest achievement I’ve personally ever witnessed at the club.

Don’t mean to pick on you mate but this kind of post is ridiculous. Palace, Leicester and Newcastle all beat City last season. Does that mean they are just as good or not that far behind. The 4-1 was a great day and result but it was a one off where we were just clinical on the day and they wernt. We wanted it more. It was no way an indication that our team was anywhere near as good as theres. The final table points was proof of that. They had Premier league players in a championship team and then once promoted were able to make them permanent signings They then even added more quality players to them. The championship players with question marks around them were able to step up. Namely the defence. We’re nowhere near them at the moment.

I don’t think he’s mobile enough for our style. More of a target man.

I saw him for about 10 minutes and straight away you could tell he was a player. There must be lots of similar talent out there. Look at Mahrez and kante as other examples.
