Pointless? We had a disaster of a keeper and a number 2 that should have retired years ago. Our keeper was costing us points on a weekly basis. We needed someone that could replace him from the first game in January that’s how bad he was. There is no way we were going to find a keeper on the level of Kalinic in such quick team. Even when he played in he was a massive improvement on Nyland. Had he stayed in goal once our defence was sorted he would have been just fine.

Rose seems to have a very negative and defeatist attitude and he is well within his right to feel that way. However he is in a very privileged position and in the limelight. If he is going to speak to the public about such a sensitive subject it’s important to say the right things to inspire those to stand up to racism, not shy away from it and give up, Especially when youngsters are listening. I appreciate it affects everybody differently and some might admire him for speaking out. I personally didn’t like his message at all. As a player I think he is a very good left back. Wouldn’t mind seeing him at the club.

If he were prepared to pay 14 as rumours suggest but they will only accept 20 I would rather we paid the extra rather than miss out. I think he is exactly what we need. But then it’s not my money.

Yeah but Leeds actually have a list of player they don’t want to sell but have to sell. Philips isn’t one of them so they will ask for silly money. That’s the difference.

I have heard that although Leeds have to sell some players beforint they can buy, Philips is not one of them. He is in Bielsa’s plans. I don’t think this one will happen.

Oh yeah you have to loan a few players in the championship to stand a chance. But now we are in a position to sign this level of player instead. Any loans need to be either top players, transfee’s or squad fillers.

We should only be loaning a first team player if he significantly improves our team. I.e. A player from a club that have an embarrassment of riches so can afford to loan the player out. For example James to Bayern or Kovocic to Chelsea.

It does indeed but West Ham have established themselves as a top flight team now. They have shown improvement each year and their next goal is to try and challenge the top 6. Our competition for next season are the newly promoted teams and Southampton, Brighton, Newcastle, Burnley and Bournemouth. These teams have declined and will be in the mix for relegation. It may almost be like a mini league of 8.

He did but he wasn’t completely ruling out the possibility. I think he was just making it clear it’s a last resort. He could have been trying to get away from the polices of the last lot who were more or less saying they would have to loan players (beg, steal and borrow).

The thing is Mings joined us end of Jan. He gave us 4 great months and was inspirational in getting us promoted. But he was never our player and it was the championship he excelled in. Some fans are acting as if he’s Mr Aston Villa. Don’t get me wrong I want us to bring him back. But if I doesn’t happen I’m confident the club will find centre halves just as good if not better to take his place. We move on.

I don’t have a problem with loans for squad players especially if they are versatile. But if he is not going to start for us it probably wouldn’t make sense to loan him to us either.

Probably showing my age but I’ve never been comfortable with footballers on social media. Feels like it’ll come to no good. Im sure it probably is a good thing though.
