  1. I’m not disputing whether they are good players or not. But its proof that it can take young players from abroad time to settle so there is always a risk in signing this type of player too. Look im not saying we shouldn’t look for value abroad and I also agree that 20-30m million is a ridiculous sum for a Championship player with 2 good seasons. I just think we finally have the right owners and setup at the club for the first time in years so I’d like to believe we can trust them. If they think Webster is worth paying over the odds for them then I’m happy with it.
  2. People seem to forget what happened last time we tried it.
  3. I can just see it happening for another club. Then we can reminisce about the time we all wanked over his range of passing.
  4. Fair enough but as mentioned below you can probably add 10 million on to all of them if a Premier League club comes in for them.
  5. F**k his defending. Did you see that range of passing!! You’re right though. I think our scouting department need some help from Paddy Reilly.
  6. I reckon you’d be looking at a starting price of 40 million for one of them these days.
  7. Ok fair enough. So I take it you don’t think Webster is good enough to be a Premier League player?
  8. I’ll ask again. How can a sum be poor value until he has played for us? If we pay 20 million and he gives us 5 seasons as first choice centre half. Would he still be poor value? Or what if we sign him for 5milliom and he flops in this first season. Would he have been good value? I get you think 20m is too much for him. But I don’t think anybody can say if it’s good value or not until he’s played for us.
  9. He was spraying them with both feet too. If he can defend as well maybe this lad is the real deal.
  10. There’s a fan that wants us to sign Charlie Austin??
  11. How can anybody say whether a player represents good value or not until he has actually played a season for us?
  12. I love mcginn but I’d sell him for 50 million. It’s bullshit anyway. Ain’t nobody paying that amount for him yet.
  13. If that’s the team and Smith can get them busting a gut each week then there would be a hell of a lot of energy in the team. I think it would be scrap to the finish to stay up though.
  14. I enjoyed it but I just can’t take genny seriously. Wrong guy to play such a strong character.
  15. I think he means Chester as he was born here. I think it’s irrelevant anyway with Welsh players as they count as homegrown.
  16. Why? He’s a good young player and they’ve got him for the price of a player they didn’t want to keep.
  17. So we need two adequate players in each position. lets say Targets happening. Next should be 2 centre halves..
  18. Is this new? Did teams like Man City and Arsenal meet this last season?
  19. I think maybe 6 or 7 that are good enough to start in the top flight. Problem is 3 of the 7 don’t play for us. Anyway good to see the rebuild continuing.
  20. I’m happy with the signing. Just a bit wary.
  21. Is he comfortable on the ball? Genuine question as can’t remembe how he plays.
  22. Obviously Smith and his team. It’s just good to sign players that clubs and fans don’t want to lose especially when the team is a direct rival for staying up. However that’s not always possible.
  23. I thought I already said. Edit: for the record though I’d much prefer this signing than an unknown from Europe.
