I feel considering the circumstances we’ve done amazingly well in the summer. Better than I could have imagined. But I think the task was so big even after spending 100m+ we will still be in a relegation scrap.
This isn’t being negative, I really think staying up will be a massive achievement. Then after that we can really kick on.
I think by the end of the window it needed to look like this in terms of first team competition.
3 more signings after Luiz probably unlikely though.
I still think the squad is weak.
Exactly. He has made some valid points but just totally misses out the part we had no choice because of how small our squad was.
As if a newly promoted team is in a position to sign 3 players for 100 million!
Didn’t Wolves take up an option to buy Ofobe to sell him on and make a quick 2 million?
Or maybe it was an obligation to buy. Not quite the same scenario but similar.
I suspect the Buy back back would be enough to ensure we make a decent profit on the player whilst City don’t pay a ridiculous amount.
We were all going nuts when we signed a young unknown Brazilian for 22 million. Never mind 40m
Lets not be hypocritical hey.
edit: His stats do look shit though
Do you trust your source mate?
If we have really bid it means there is money to spend on Benrahma because I really do not think this signing has a chance of happening! Hopefully the saved money is used elsewhere.
