I still hope we sign one more wide player. With the way we play they are game changers so it would be great to have 4 and be able to change things around each game if needed. We saw last season it’s the two attacking wide players that Smith liked to mix it up with to make things happen.

The same intensity wasn’t there as it’s only a friendly but we’re trying to keep the ball until an opening appears. No aimless crosses and balls in to the box. If there’s nothing on we start again and everyone looked comfortable on the ball. I think we will play some good stuff this season.

Good point. It’s clear a possession based game with a lot of movement is being instilled in to all of them. It’s great to see.

This. Had he scored that goal when he hit the bar he would have got a few comments in passing about it. Had one of the new players done the same everyone would be going nuts. I guess it’s just how it is and I understand that. Im really trying to judge every player on the preseason and not what I know of them already and I think they’ve all been ok with a few stand outs in maybe Jota and Wesley. Nobody has been shocking.

To be fair all those teams are probably looking at us as a team to finish above. Its really hard to know how good we will be. So many unknowns in the team.

Watching that video which i believe was early 2000s. I still think the standard looks so much poorer than it is today.

But how many of those players properly featured last season? Whelan and Adomah? Hutton before we turned good.
