I don’t think you should drop a player based on a bad game. It should depend on who looked better in training. I guess it must have been Wes.

Would like to have seen Davis start but overall happy with the team as we looked good first half v Burnley. I think we’ll win this. A win could take us up to 14th, relieve some of the pressure and quieten some of the constant negativity. I respect all opinions and I’m not having a dig but i do not understand constant comments on how we will throw the game away. Let’s just wait and see hey?

True but I’d be a lot more worried if we weren't even taking leads. Glass half full and all that.

Lots of praise and said we have Potential to be a great club in Europe again or something like that. Probably just taking the pressure off Norwich to make them underdogs but I still like the guy.

Just the constant negativity and never seeing any positives doesn’t seem enjoyable. That’s all. Didn’t say for a second you are not supporting your team mate. Apologises if it came across that way. You just rarely seem happy about us. Every game is different. Had we been playing this Spurs team at home today I think we would have won too. They didn’t seem interested.

As mentioned before I’ve tried to defend him this season but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a defender sold by a dummy as easily as Taylor did last week. In fact Westwood didn’t even feint to cross, He just shifted the ball. Taylor must have been very embarrassed when the team went through the goals.

I had a dream we went 5-1 down. They just kept hitting us on the break. It was horrible! 2-1 Villa.

I dunno mate he looked worryingly off the pace last week and almost like he should be taken out the firing line. Hopefully just one of those days. I was never a fan of Davis but he looked really sharp in the cup games and also against Palace when he came on. Smiths comments about him being ready make me think he could play a role tomorrow.

I’d like to see Davis given a chance to start or at least come on a lot sooner if Wesley isn’t impacting the game.

I agree it’s crazy to write him off so soon but I do think if he is struggling we should give Davis a chance if he’s ready. It’s a tough role as a lone striker and he has played a lot of minutes. Coming on after 60 minutes or so against a tiring defence might even help him impact the game and build some confidence.

Guys he isn’t going to play for at least another 2 weeks. So we may as well debate Wesley or Davis starting in the mean time.

Ok maybe decent not the right word. It’s certainly not woeful though. We are 13th in the table for goals conceded so there is worse defences.

It is. But it doesn’t mean we have a poor defence. It means the opposite if anything. It does suggest we are not defending well as a team though.

You sure they didn’t mean overall shots rather than on target? lets say it was all shots against them the number is 121 which is way to high and suggests we are not defending well as a team and keep the ball well enough. But considering we have conceded 11, Heaton saved 15 and 40 were blocked that means the remaining 55 attempts weren't even on target. so out of 121 attempts from opposition that means we are only conceded from an average of 9% of those attempts in games. Now I’ve probably got claret and blue tinted glasses on but to me that backs up what I’ve seen from watching us play in that we have a decent defence. I’m very surprised you think it’s woeful

Thanks but Villa lad mentioned it was shots on target which is why he thought we had a ‘woeful’ defence. I’m interested to see this.

@villalad21 mentioned on another thread we have had the most shot on target against us in the league. I can’t find this stat anywhere and it’s doing my head in now. Anyone know where I can find it?

How many shots on target have teams had against us? I can’t find this stat that concerns you.

That would indicate Heaton has had to make a lot of saves when I don’t think he has. Do blocks count as shots on target?

He’s not fit for tomorrow anyway. I’d like to see Davis start and Wesley bought on early second half if we need to change it.
