  1. Good post. Agree with most of it but sometimes putting 11 men behind the ball to see a game out can help too. Look at Wolves against city. They literally had every player behind the ball for an entire half and city just had no idea how to beak them down. Then when the chance came they hit them on the break twice. I think against Arsenal we had no plan to defend the lead and wanted to keep attacking but whilst under pressure the players kept sitting deep. This lead to a poor shape and no organisation and eventual errors which cost us the game. I think this is where we will come unstuck against better teams. We need to accept there will be periods of the games we’ll come under immense pressure and we have to deal with it better. Keeping on topic it’s these situations were I think we need Wesley to do a lot more In trying to hold the ball up and relieve some pressure. Raul for Wolves was fantastic on Sunday.
  2. I think we’ll struggle to keep them both if we stay up never mind if we got relegated. As long we spent the money wisely it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Many teams have sold their best players in the past and still continued to improve.
  3. @kurtsimonw I know easier said then done but by the sounds of it you should not be this guys best man. In fact you may even be better off without him in your life. But as people have said tell him you can’t be his best man and just explain your are not comfortable with it. He’s reaction will tell you how much of a friend he really is.
  4. FFP would mean we would need the parachute payments to keep most of our squad together and come straight back up. If we didn’t manage it in the first year there would be a fire sale of our better players. Doesn’t matter how rich our owners are FFP is still a massive hurdle to overcome in the championship.
  5. I think we have spent the tv revenue we would get for finishing bottom of the Premier League along with money owners are allowed to pump in whilst still adhering to FFP. Parachute payments would be an additional 100m over 3 years so we wouldn’t go tits up if we got relegated and could still afford player wages for the first year. I think it’s something like 75m the first season a team gets related?
  6. So do I. It’s why it winds me up when some fans are so quick to turn on him after a bad result.
  7. Well tbf you have shown to have little faith in Smith and without him we definitely wouldn’t be in this league. So you must understand why people find that disappointing considering you feel the same way about Steer.
  8. They like to play an attacking style which should hopefully suit us as we’re not the best at breaking teams down. Happy for them to have more of the ball the way Norwich did but not do much with it.
  9. I agree BOF. A couple of games ago people were saying Norwich will stay up and we will go down. Opinions seem to change game by game. All it takes is Sheffield United to lose a couple on the bounce or get spanked and people will be saying they are going down too.
  10. Looks like they are going for the bad publicity is better than no publicity approach. It’s not going to helps their cause.
  11. Apparently based on a recent study the UK is one of the least racist countries in Europe. I can easily believe that.
  12. Because they parked the bus and city had an off day. Put 11 men behind the ball, let them have all the possession, get a bit of luck and and hit on the break is how you beat City. They tried to play an open game against us passing it out from the back and it backfired miserably.
  13. I probably didn’t write that correctly. What I mean is for example when I see racism on social media I see an overwhelming amount of hatred towards it. The racist is well and truly shunned and probably regrets their actions. If these people kept it suppressed. I never would have known how much people are against it. The response to racism in the country by the vast majority of people makes me feel proud. Does that make sense?
  14. I think the fact it’s becomes more evident and brazen (mainly due to social media) has shown me personally just how much people despise it and are not going to tolerate it. That’s what I’m seeing now. I actually used to think the country was a lot more racist than it is.
  15. Where did you see this? My understanding is city have a buy back clause at an agreed price if they choose to trigger it. If another club bid for him and we accepted it then it’s up to city to buy him for the agreed price or let us sell him to the club that has a bid accepted it. Is this not how it works?
  16. I personally think 5 years ago the same idiots would have written the same thing. It just wouldn’t have got as much attention. If anything racists are more shunned in society than ever.. People are more united against racist behaviour than ever before.
  17. I have to disagree with you mate. When I was a kid a lot worse than ‘speak English’ would have been written on a fence. Just walking through the town or even playing at a local park didn’t feel safe at times. (And sometimes wasn’t). Plus the second part of the fence photos would never have happened either.
  18. May well be but it’s took this country a long time to stamp this kind of behaviour out. For me personally as a the child of an immigrant I’ve never felt as safe and accepted in this country as i ever have in my life. With all this Brexit nonsense it’s easy to forget how far we’ve come as a multicultural nation..
  19. What about this lot? Doubt they’d make me feel welcome.
  20. Does it lead to a better work life balance or just companies wasting money?
  21. Thanks mate and not at all will I be offended. It used to annoy me when every person that voted leave was portrays as a racist because I know how far from the truth that is. However it is fair to say every racist would have voted leave.
  22. I’ve never seen Steer disrespected mate. Everyone appreciates what he did for us. With all due respect if anyway is disrespected it’s Smith whenever we lose a game.
  23. I wish I didn’t vote. So many lies. I still think one day the EU will have massive reform and maybe even breakup. Just not anytime soon.
