Most people that have referred to him being young have also mentioned that he is new to this league. Some players settle and adapt a lot quicker than others so I think his age along with being in a new country/league are valid points to raise.

It’s a tough one. If jacks fit id probably drop El Ghazi and play Trez. Wolves full backs get high up the pitch and I think Trez is better at tracking than El Ghazi.

El Ghazi should have scored and also didn’t track for their first goal. I admit he did well for most of the game but unfortunately a lapse in concentration cost us.

I was always happy with Weimann. Thought he did well in what was a pretty shit team and a very negative manager. Weimann scored some big goals for us. Wes will be fine and if he isn’t he will be sold. I’ve seen enough of him to think he will be fine. He does need competition though. Kodija is pointless.

I’m being serious. How hard is to run at players that are passing it around at the back to rush them in to passing the ball. Yes I probably would have collapse a few minutes later but I would have least tried. His pressing was lazy. Plain and simple.

If he can’t even run and press for 10 minutes he shouldn’t even be playing football never mind at the highest level! You could have thrown me on the pitch for the last 10 minutes and I would have done more. Even pissed up!

He really put a shift in yesterday. Gave his all for the team. As long as he is doing that every game I have no complaints.

You’ve got 10 minutes to press from the front for us. Couldn’t even be bothered to do that. Wouldn’t care if he never plays for us again.

Kodija with fresh legs put no pressure on their midfield or defenders. They were able to bring the ball out with ease. Really wish we had a striker that would press from player to player like Mcginn does. Just run your bollocks off for the team for 10 minutes ffs!

I was disappointed that our wingers didn’t cover their full backs in the last 10 minutes. It was a fantastic ball by Mane but we should never be allowing their full backs headers from 6 yards out. Robertson had so much room and El Ghazi switched off, could see it happening all game. The second goal was a fantastic header but I don’t get why we don’t put a player on the post. Having said all that Firminhos goal should have stood and then it would have been a different game. It’s hard to stomach but they maybe edged it.

It didn’t seem like we were defensive. We pressed for 70 minutes. Players had nothing left after that. surprised by the possession stats.

@jim I found the bet mate. It’s £100 (you wanted £1000:)) to a charity of your choice if we get relegated under Smith. £100 to a charity of my choice if he keeps us up. If he gets sacked this season then bets void. I also have a bet with @Davkaus but not sure what that one was.

I think they’ll get dealt with as the players get better. We had players absolutely shattered or injured and our options on the bench are not good enough for this level in my opinion. Bringing on Elmo, Hourihane and Kodija made us a weaker team at a crucial time but Smith had no other alternatives. Stay up this season and then we can continue the rebuild.

We won’t play Liverpool and city every week thankfully. The big games start now. I’d take a point at wolves but we have to beat Newcastle at home.

We may have. We also had a bet on us being challenging for automatic promotion by Jan 2020. We voided that one because we ended up getting promoted last season instead! Smith has proved you wrong once already mate, have a bit of faith.

I think Smith is an amazing manager mate. What he has achieved in his short time at the club is incredible.
