    It was understandable fans wanted smith to give Kodija a chance as it just wasn’t working. What I hated was the abuse Smith got over it. He is partly responsible for us starting the season so light up front so I’m not defending him. I just understand why he doesn’t want to play Kodija. Awful lazy player.

    I said after the Liverpool league game I hope he never plays for us again. After the cup game I thought he deserved a chance. After that display today I’m back to hope he never plays for us again. We may as well have had 10 men.

    Played well today. Kept possession for us well and worked hard. Topped off with a good goal. It was even more telling when Kodija came on. If the club wernt going to sign a striker before they have to now. Hopefully injury not too serious.

    Boy we needed that. Good display and fair play to Smith for getting a response from the players. Wesley having a great game and gets injured. Kodija at the moment probably one of worst player I’ve ever seen at villa. Mings so important to us. Grealish just world class.

    Trying to be optimistic but have this feeling it’s going to end badly. Fingers crossed Smith knows what he’s doing with this line up and it’s been worked on well.

    I still don’t think we’re as bad as the teams that Lambert managed to keep up. I mean in his first season we lost 3 games in a row conceding 15 goals and scoring none! Yet we survived. I’m not defending us and Smith. Just saying things can change quickly. A month ago everyone had relegated Southampton and Watford. The former lost 9-0 at home ffs! Look at them now! Things can change.

    Against Everton after 3 defeats in a row the fans sang Allez non stop for the last 10 minutes. The players responded. Pundits spoke how a massive club is back. 3 months on tickets v Man City are openly available on general sale. Can’t believe how much it’s changed in such a short time. Nah, we ain’t fickle.

    Atmosphere was shit against Norwich. Not a patch on how it was early on the season. All you could hear were the moans and groans with the occasional come on you yellows. Allez Allez Alez was always half hearted and ended with a whimper. The home fans aren’t getting behind the team enough in my opinion and players short of confidence are being affected by this.
