I can’t remember reading that but I guess it’s True for Drinkwater too. Borja has about 3 years over Drinkwater though and will also be out of a job in the summer if fails. Worse case for Drinkwater he will still get another 4 million or so from his 2 years left at Chelsea. Id say Borja is playing for a lot more.

You could argue for the next 4 months he is playing to save his career. It’s make or break for the guy at a high level.

Looking at his career it all seemed to go down hill when he joined Swansea.

For whatever reason it just hasn’t happened for him since he left Spain. Maybe a fresh start can reignite his career. Similar to how it did for Mings.

We had the 9th highest wage bill in the league when we went down. We also had an unsustainable wage bill under MON which was was one of the biggest reasons for the Austerity that followed. We all know what a mess the situation become under Xia. The club is being very prudent with its wage structure.

I think you missed the point of my post mate. It’s not the offence itself it’s the fact we’re continually ignoring pre march warnings. They could easily decide to make an example of us.

We’ve all seen how important that extra yard of pace and acceleration is in this league. That’s why I think Benrahma would be better than Bowen. He seems more agile.

He’s a punk. We have a good team spirit at the club. Characters like him would ruin it.

Are they though? Big ground. Been in league for a few years now. Some big signings. London factor. Owners are still spending big.

To be fair I think West Ham are a more attractive proposition than villa at this moment in time. Their squad is a lot better than their position suggests and they’ll probably be alright.

Lol bit harsh that. I don’t care about the pitch invasion so much but the stuff I’ve heard about abuse to opponent players and fans pisses me off. plus I am a miserable bastard.

Ok so I tried to put a fiver on Bowen at 20-1 but I had applied self inclusion to my account which had ended in 2016! So I got it removed but the rule is you can’t bet for 24 hours afterwards. odds this morning are 10-1. edit: West Ham are 20-1 on so looks done deal. Dangerous joining West Ham. Could find himself back in the Championship in a few months.

I don’t think he’s up for the top flight anymore so it’s right for him to move on and get some football. He’s been a great player and captain for us and I’m sure we’ll all wish him all the best,.

Yes I think it partly is because we have previous. It’s like if you have 9 points on your license and get caught speeding. You can’t really ask what’s the difference between your offence and somebody that speeds for the first time.
