  1. 6 defenders and at least one DM on the pitch? Might as well stick Engles and Taylor on the pitch as well. I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures.
  2. We had conceded 4 less but also scored 12 less as well. At least we have more of a goal threat this teams The problem for me is when the players mentally give up. It felt like that on Saturday which was the most worrying thing. The season we went down the players and coach gave up as soon as the club decided not to recruit in January.
  3. The goals against is alarming. We lost by the odd goal in every game we lost until we player Leicester. Since then defensively we’ve been shocking. Then again in a lot of games it did seem like it was a matter of time before we got some beatings such were the chances teams were creating against us. Id like to see the team go back to 4 at the back eventually with Mings and Engels the centre half pairing. Whether that should be against City I’m not so sure!
  4. Reina’s done ok but he’s no Heaton.
  5. Didn’t see today’s game but there was nothing credible about the Man City performance.
  6. The likes of Carlo Ancelotti would never take that job. Anyway my post wasn’t even defending him so I have no idea what Ancelotti has to do with anything.
  7. Reina needs to stop his little clips to a player up the field that come straight back. Nearly cost us 2 goals on Saturday and Reina had to redeem himself with saves. To be fair he is probably one of our best passers but his approach just isn’t working.
  8. He changed the shape after we lost badly to Leicester, got lucky against Norwich and then battered by Watford. It worked against Burnley but I think a lot of that was down to Mings returning rather than having a back 3. Even though we managed a few good results with this formation I think when looking at the season as a whole we look a better team as a 433.
  9. True but it does seem that there have been less shock results recently. Hence why we have managed to stay 17th after losing 3 games in a row. Let’s face it., we’re pathetic away from home. We do tend to put up a fight at home though. Looking forward to the Chelsea game.
  10. That’s a really good point. He probably rolled back on to the pitch so we didn’t go down to 10 men while he got treatment. Jack and Mings telling him to roll back off didn’t help his cause.
  11. We’re all shit so any points will come from the teams around us. The problem is we’ve pretty much already played them all twice! We’ve only got West Ham, Newcastle and Palace left and 2 of them are away!
  12. I think if he just stayed off the pitch when he got injured nobody would be even talking about it now. For some strange reason he rolled back on to the pitch and wasted our time. Also killing some momentum when we had a corner. Both Mings and Grealish had to ask him to move back off the pitch so we could carry on. Injured or not it was very odd behaviour by him.
  13. Probably the only manager to ever start the pre-season summer with 2 adequate first team players in the squad as well.
  14. We need too see a reaction in the next 3 games. A Cup final in itself should be enough motivation for the players to give it their all but after that I’m interested to see how we perform against Leicester and Chelsea. If the effort levels are as they were against Southampton then it would seem Smith has lost the team and the writing could be on the wall for him. I don’t expect us to get anything from the next 3 games. But I do expect to see the players give it their all at the very least.
  15. Fair enough. I was watching on a dodgy buffering screen so was hard to tell.
  16. Didn’t seem that long. If they felt he could continue they would have given him longer surely?
  17. I think it was an eye injury which is why he was told he couldn’t continue. No way would he have been subbed that quickly otherwise.
  18. I think it’s ok we have Wembley next week. No league games for a while so we will have a few games in hand and no what we need. I think it’s a good time for a break from the league.
  19. Sacking him isn’t going to immediately change our fortunes. Even though it feels hard to believe right now It might even make us worse! The Chelsea game is massive!!
  20. I can’t get over how bad we were today. Is this the beginning of the end for Smith as head coach?
  21. Surely the medical team decided he had to come off?
  22. Is there anyway we can stay up on 26 points? Get a draw to West Ham last game of the season.
