  1. Reading this thread it seems pretty much everybody has put Smith top of the list. Not really sure what the OP expected out of this thread. Whether he is the right man for the job right now only time will tell. But we all rate him much higher than the crap that preceded him. There is no mob. You’re just wrong and we’re all right
  2. They spot farts as well. Nobody is safe!
  3. Ah f**k it. On the train so I’ll join in. 8th Garde - Truly awful appointment 7th RDM - wasn’t really given long enough but the lack of balance in the team he assembled was a joke. 6th Mcleish - yes he kept us up but he also had a squad that had finished top 10 4 seasons in a row (minus a few big sales). His appointment was the beginning of the end. Shocking appointment. 5th Sherwood - didn’t really know what he was doing but kept us up and got us to an FA cup final. The win at Wembley over Liverpool is a great memory. 4th Houllier - changed too much too quickly. I think he was on the right path though. 3rd - Bruce - he had a good crack at getting us up. I’d have him further down for how he left our defence if the other appointments weren't so bad. 2nd - Lambert - it was dire but some how he managed to keep us up each season on a shoe string budget. 1st - Smith - Bought the crowds back to Villa park. Got us 10 wins in a row. Played some of the best football in years. Got us 2 Wembley appearances, one being one of the best memories in recent history. Yes struggling this season. But will never forget what he achieved last season and the joy he bought back to the club after years of misery.
  4. Did you really need another thread to dangle this bait. Let’s see who bites...
  5. I still think this is our best team: Reina, Guilbert, Engles, Mings, Target, Luiz Nakamba Mcginn El Ghazi Samatta Grealish.
  6. Said the same in the Premier League thread. It’s by far our strongest team and if it’s the one we can field for the rest of the season we have a chance.
  7. Fair enough. Still when you compare that to Sheffield United and Norwich there’s a lot of change. I think they were able to add the odd player.
  8. I knew it! That’s why I don’t wear one sometimes. I’m a strong believer in fate and those rare times i don’t belt up it’s because my higher self is telling me not to!
  9. We literally had 3 players that started on Sunday and one of them isn’t a first team player. Fans seem to conveniently forget this when having a dig. If we stay up it will be an incredible achievement.
  10. Can’t argue with that. Stupid and selfish mate.
  11. Don’t get me wrong. I only do this very rarely or for short drives. This was like a confession. It’s not something I think is cool or am proud of. I know it’s dumb. I do generally try and avoid driving as much as I can though to be honest. But I will start always wearing a seatbelt. it’s the law end of the day.
  12. Non taken and I agree it is. I feel my driving is significantly approved though and that’s safer for people on the road right?
  13. You think that’s bad when I’m on my own I pull the passenger seat belt over to stop the warning noises. Very irresponsible I know but I feel so much more relaxed and comfortable driving without the belt on.
  14. Phil Foden looks some player. If he was playing at Villa he would already be a star like Grealish is.
  15. He’s just a cock. Simple as that. Every work place has them. Unless he was senior and actually had some power I’d just ignore it. Just keep it in your back pocket if ever need it one day.
  16. The problem is Smith likes to play a high line so he has to push up with the rest of the back 4. I think when he is alongside Mings it’s not to bad as he has the positioning and pace to cover Engles if needed. When Mings isn’t on the pitch the ball Over the top does Engles time and time again. The home games v Leicester and Spurs being the obvious example. So in a nutshell Engles can only really start alongside Mings if we are going to play a high line.
  17. Come on screwloose. I like your posts but you gotta admit you’re wrong on this one.
  18. Pretty tragic what happened to the young lad he has played tribute too.
  19. If we can somehow keep everyone fit from now until the end of the season and play the below team (once Mcginns back) every game. We have a chance. Reina Guilbert Engles Mings Target Nakamba Luiz Mcginn El Ghazi Samatta Grealish
  20. I kept hearing a small heath song on Sunday. Something about them being b****ds. Which song is it?
