If you had a friend that wasn’t white you might get what I mean.
Anyway you said yourself you were less racist then Boris Johnson so at least you acknowledged you were still racist. As we all are.
Have a good weekend mate.
There would be an uproar with people saying they have been wrongly fined. It already happened with £90 fines. Imagine if it went to £1000.
That the point I’ve been making. In many instances it’s difficult for the police.
So if somebody had a view that the majority disagrees with they deserve a hard time?
I was just trying to look at things from a different angle but you’re right, I’m chatting s**t.. Being from a state of a certain country with a history of police brutality I appreciate how lucky I am to be living in the Uk and how it’s police force behaves. I also thank people like yourself for ensuring it stays that way.
I’m just frustrated with people that take the piss out of the rights this country give us. I’ve seen the power a little fear can have in keeping people in line but thinking about it clearly, I would never want to see that here . I wish the ungrateful f**ks would also see how lucky they are.
Apologies if I’ve offended anyone today.
Bicks, I’m seeing it like this....
VLV - Police need more power. Maybe they need to be feared?
Poster - instead of police having more power or being feared we have more funding towards education, courts and Prison?
VLV - I agree but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Would love to hear of examples where more funding has lead to a more relaxed police force?
Poster - why don’t you go and research it yourself and then come back to me.
Nope. I don’t get it mate.
Fair enough but I don’t think they should be. The more people that can get away with it the more they will.
In my opinion Engage, Explain, Encourage before enforce will just mean I’ve only been caught a few times so I should be ok for a while.
Im not saying they’re aren’t over zealous police officers, far from it. Unfortunately I think there a lot more people that will take the piss out of the reasonable laws in place.
If a person gets caught breaching the social distancing laws they will not always admit to it and happily take a fine. They are more likely to come out with an excuse and also have a complaint about it. This leads to the media jumping on it which makes the police seem like they are going above and beyond their powers. The knock on effect of that is police become more relaxed because they under scrutiny. Hence people continue to get away with not adhering to the laws.
All of the above is my opinion.
ok I take back the police criticism thing. But that aside I didn’t see anything wrong in asking for an example of where extra funding to education, courts and prisons had helped relax the police force?
Used to it mate. I like to give my opinions on off topic now and then because I don’t know many people who are as well informed as the people on this site (along with them being Villa fans!) I’m trying to keep it respectful because believe it or not I do really like everybody on here
You mean the only person on this thread?
You’re all very like minded. Surely someone with a difference of opinion is a good thing whether you all agree with it or not?
My point is the fact they have to resort to posting stupid tweets shows what a joke they are. This is how much power they have.
Tweeting sarcastic posts about peoples social distancing and then having to quickly backtrack about it is as far as they can go before the media are all over them and people are complaining.
I can’t believe how much one tweet over people buying non essential items has got so much media attention. Also how they now have to back track. Another example of how the police demand zero respect or authority in my opinion.
That’s probably true. But I don’t miss any sort of football. I have no desire to watch any games. It probably because I gamble a lot and I’m saving a lot of money.
