  1. The racism I experienced was to my face. A deliberate attempt to hurt and humiliate me because of my colour and no other reason. It's completely different to what Mackay did. Also where have I defended him? What he did was wrong and very stupid. Despicable? Give me a break. Are you White British? It's quite ironic how White British seem to be the most offended by his text messages. His racism is deeply entrenched to the point where it even affected his transfer dealings among other things. Systemic racism is much worse than someone shouting racial slurs in your face in a deliberate attempt to hurt you, and I'm surprised that as a person of colour you don't seem too bothered by it. People like him should have no place in mainstream society. Where is the proof it affected his transfer dealings? I agree systemic racism is the worst kind but I didn't read any proof of that. I read he sent stupid text messages which he probably thought were funny but clearly wernt. A person of colour? I find that quite offensive

  3. What was that photo taken from? I remember some years ago me and my mate kept seeing 1111 everywhere. Then on the 11/11 Villa were playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. There were other stats that pointed to 1's also but I can't remember them all. Anyway I was convinced this meant we would beat Jose's Chelsea and I put a wager on it. Get what the score was....... 1-1 !!!!!
  4. It probably was but now they have another nuisance/reason to make their next move. Yes we should probably move any further chat to the other thread.
  5. It was the invasion of Iraq that created ISIS. The yanks know what they are doing, they always have done.
  6. I'm laughing at how you're now flipping this into an argument that people who are racist, sexist, homophobic and such 'generally' come from council estates and 'rough streets', and that these same people had a poor upbringing. Isn't that what the premise is that there should be greater education to teach academy kids not to be racist, sexist, homophobic and anti-semitic? A lot of them come from poor backgrounds and would not otherwise get exposed to these "cultured" values. When Mackay came up through the youth ranks there was none of this PC education. Maybe it would have made a difference. You mean educated enough to keep it to yourself? People from all backgrounds and 'classes' harbour these views. They are just more subtle in how they act about it.
  7. It isn't a clash of working class and middle class cultures in the slightest, I can assure you that I am far, far, far from middle class. It doesn't matter what upbringing you had to be offended by it. What I mean't was that the people who use such language generally had a poor upbringing. Council estates, rough streets etc. Con, what do you actually want to see happen to McKay and Moody? Are you saying that because he hasn't killed or molested anyone, he should be allowed to get a job with a top club? What about the alleged corruption and unexplained payments / transfer fees? Are you equating the 'folksy racism' of a certain class or generation with that of a 42 year old millionaire, formerly in charge of a premier league team. Comments directed at individuals as opposed to regional and national stereotypes? Would you trust him with Barry Bannan? I personally think the alleged corruption and unexplained payments are more serious than the text messages.

I thought you were laughing at me removing my post swearing at Con. Let's leave the working class up rough up bringing generalisation and talk about why you are so angry and feel it's a personal insult?

  10. Snake! Can anyone put a pic of the banana phone up. I don't know how to on ipad.
  11. I had the original banana phone. Loved it.

  13. It isn't a clash of working class and middle class cultures in the slightest, I can assure you that I am far, far, far from middle class. And Vive La Villa, yes, yes I am. I'm even more offended that people can brush it all off as a joke or that it doesn't matter that these things have been said. In what sense are you offended? Race? sexual preference, gender? Sorry if I'm being intrusive I'm just genuinely interested why you are so angry?
  14. Out of interest are you personally offended by some of the comments?
  15. Thing is sampjp just because you have never sent what's deemed as a racist, homophobic or sexist text in your life it doesn't mean that all people that have are bad people. It also doesn't mean these people really believe those views and live their life by them. If they did really have those views it doesn't mean they will always have those views and never change them.
  16. It's a slippery slope when you start to ban people from an occupation simply based on things they have said. I think it's ridiculous to even suggest that.
  17. His livelihood is from football management. If he should never manage again isn't that his livelihood destroyed? He should manage again and hopefully he regrets what he did and will manage again.
  18. Do you think that's because we we can park the bus against the good teams and always play like the away team hitting on the break. Against the weaker teams at home we give it a go and get exposed.
  19. Well considering the backlash and the talk of him never managing again I'd say our society in general doesn't think it is acceptable at all and quite the opposite. I personally think yes he **** up and considering he has just lost out on a new job he has been punished. People are sitting on their high horse condemning the guy yet at the same time want his livelihood destroyed over a few stupid text messages. I really don't understand how you think people are sitting on their high horse? Ok what do you think his punishment should be?

  21. I don't get this kind of thinking. If Grealish is good enough he will play, end of.
  22. Yes this thread is about whacking one off at work.
  23. Balotelli on 90k a week is insane, and for £16m is peanuts, I get the feeling he's a player who get's sick of a place after a season or 2. If he gets 40 goals in 2 years it'll be a great bit of business. That Long deal was nuts, but that's what happens when you look for "proven" talent, that must be the worst purchase of the season, 6 season in the Premier league and hasn't hit double figures.I think the Balotelli signing is a mistake. Great player when he wants to be but way too disruptive. Edit: he here he has clauses on conduct and behaviour in his contract. Smart move but what does it say about a person when you have to have such a contract?
  24. After Senderos's dominating performance during the game it was uncharitable of Lineker to leave us with the impression he is submissive and weak, which he generated by implying an over-intimacy with Vlaar. Get outa here!
