  1. It won't happen due to a reason that most people will dismiss because we couldn't score goals. That reason is our captain is back. Had he not played today we would have lost IMO.
  2. I do wonder what the hell Lambert was telling them. Maybe he was trying to get sacked for his pay off???
  3. The fact he can score goals like this shows he has a lot of ability. He just needs to work on other aspects of his game to be an all round player. He is young right?
  4. Thus completing the quickest change of opinion in the history of VTDon't worry, there'll be another one along soon, when we lose a game or two.Just to set it straight, I haven't changed my mind and my saying he will be in contention for the England job wasn't meant as praise. It was more a comment on how easy it is to be linked with that job if your an English manager. I think Sherwood as a few other factors on his side too.Im trying to write a comment to reply to this but I cant without getting frustrated and getting some warning pointsWell that implies that you want to say something quite nasty. I haven't got a clue what there is to get worked up about from what I've written though. All I've done is dispute the idea that I've changed my mind and said that It's quite easy to be linked with the England Manager's job. If you have some strong words to say just say them against the post and not the poster and you should be okay I reckon. Or just send me a PM but I'm not getting into an argument lol. I just get very frustrated with your post useless, I dont want to post on poster this is a forum after all and you are entitled to your opinion. Your original post made no mention of the fact that you were mentioning him in the England frame not as a compliment or as way of saying its easy to get linked to the job, you have confused others by even mentioning it. I really can't think of anything to say that I haven't already said. Even if I had meant my original post as it's been seemingly interpreted would that have mattered? I guess my opinion on Sherwood is just lets wait and see. I still have the same reservations I mentioned in the new Manager thread but am trying to feel positive about it. Are you for real? You spent nearly every minute of the last few days bad mouthing Sherwood and talking about what a bad appointment he would be. Now after one game you are feeling positive! Boy your life must be one hell of a rollercoster of emotions!! First of all I think 'badmouthing' is the wrong word, I was one of the posters constantly saying that I didn't think he was a 'prick' like a few others were making out and I also said he seemed like an alright guy. So I wasn't knocking him as a person as 'badmouthing' might imply. As I've already said I had my reservations and still do, but it's just a case of wait and see. Next, I didn't say I was feeling positive I said I was trying to feel positive. Get Outa here!!!
  5. Is that to me? No way man, I spend that whole time debating with him, gotta have a few digs Fair enough, as long as it's all light heated eh. We've got a bloody cup to win after all! Of course mate it's all in jest. I was really keen on Sherwood and am very happy with his appointment. But no way am I getting carried away after one half against bottom of table Leicester. That's why I find complete polar reactions hilarious. I'm happy with his appointment but I'll reserve judgment on him as manager until I've seen a few games with him in charge.

  8. One of the arseholes on H&V posted this as well. All I will say is that any true Villa fan will not get on the manager's back on day one. Come on that is quite funny though.
  9. Very true Zatman, that is the big question.... I reckon we'll find out very quickly whether it was actually Lamberts tactics/motivational ability or the players at fault Hope the guys given a chance though.
  10. To be fair we haven't got a team of overpaid prima donnas. Just a lot of players completely devoid of confidence, belief and an idea of how they are meant to be playing.
  11. I like him and think he will do a good job. I expect a feel good factor to slowly return.
  12. Did a photo shoot today for my little 2 month baby. She has her fist in the air and a villa scarf wrapped round her. I think she must have heard the news
  13. Welcome to Villa Tim. Expecting better times ahead. Also I told when bookies go this short it normally happens.
  14. Some fans think all is now rosy now Lamberts gone and the board should find a manager in a week that will have us challenging for top 6 next season.
  15. this comes up every time and it's false, there are options out there and certainly better options than Tim Sherwood. Like? The names have been discussed time and time again Realistic names?
  16. A bloody awful side with zero ambition to succeed from the owner This has been the case sign we hired Mcleish. Since then just going through the motions.
  17. Pre-season we probably could just not now. Southampton are completely different to us. They have a model which any potential manager has to fit. They have contingency plans for all scenarios and in this could of situation would already have someone lined up. They are an extremely well run club. They are everything we are not right now.
  18. Can't wait for Vlaar to return. As well as Clark has done he is always prone to a lapse in concentration or positioning that leads to a goal.
  19. histrically though - managers who have been out of the game struggle when they come back. Would love it if we lured Pullis - can't see it happening though Really? I think it would be quite embarrassing if we lured Pulis. Club would lose any dignity it has left.
  20. I wish people would stop saying we can do a lot better than Sherwood without suggesting realistic alternatives.
  21. Sherwood and Hoddle dream team [emoji4]
  22. The ironic thing is I honestly believe If Lerner has anything to do with recruiting the next manager there is not a chance it will be Sherwood. Lerner clearly likes nice guys that he can bend over as he pleases. So once the majority of fans will hope Lerner is involved. If we recruit Sherwood it will be Fox's call and it's one that I'm convinced will be the right choice until the end of the season.
  23. this comes up every time and it's false, there are options out there and certainly better options than Tim Sherwood. Like?
  24. Why would they go for Lambert? I definitely think he'll bounce back but no Premier League club would take him right now and understandably so. Because he has an history of saving clubs from relegation. He really hasn't. He kept us up for the last two seasons but he has no experience of coming into a club already down there and steering them to safety. Because a 10 year old on Twitter said so? Actually, that Twitter account is one of the few that is legit. Really. Isn't it the same account that said a takeover was done. Anybody know who it is?
  25. I personally think approaching Pulis now would be a new low for the club.
