    Nothing to do with the amount of injuries and suspensions? Or the fact we’re still in Europe? We’ll limp over the line, as these have taken its toll. It’s up to Emery to improve the squad in the coming years so this doesn’t happen.

    United were 9 points behind us on Christmas Day, and 14 games later despite beating us twice they are 11 points behind us with a minus goal difference. They ain’t catching us no matter how shit we are the rest of the season.

    A chance the Spurs game today might be postponed, a stabbing outside their stadium apparently.

    If say Spurs win tomorrow, they then have to go to St James Park when we’re at Arsenal, which both of us could lose. Their game v City is postponed when we have Bournemouth. So before we play Chelsea and them Arsenal we could be three points ahead of them.

    For sure. If you offered me 5th and ECL win over 4th and no ECL, I’d take 5th.

    They have the advantage now, it’s in their hands. And if they finish 4 they’ll deserve it, and if we’re 5th then so be it. Something tells me there will be some twists and turns before the seasons over.

    If we finish 5th then we finish 5th, that’s our level this season. Last time I checked 5th is higher than 7th, which will be an improvement on last season, and our highest finish in 28 years, add to that a possible trophy win.
