Have you taken into consideration that he himself wants to leave? Or that he won't sign a new contract effectively forcing us to sell him now or lose value? The majority of fans are not 'happy' to see him go, but recognise that we might be forced to sell him.
I’d imagine the majority of Chelsea fans want to keep him since he’s local. They played much better when Enzo was out with Gallagher and Caicedo in the pivot.
What if they win? FFP gets scrapped, and their charges will be dropped. Must be their aim, as seems like a last throw of the dice move if charges are coming.
If he goes, he goes. But I’m really not keen on the idea of a deal involving Weston McFattie. It has Stephen Ireland vibes. I’d thought we had moved past those days of teams taking our best players and us being lumped with their deadwood as compensation.
According to online sources (which may or may not be correct), Tielemans and Kamara are on £150,000 p/w and Luiz is on £75,000 p/w.
£150,000 ÷ 2 = £75,000
This is the most simple explanation IMO. His contract is up in two years, he's our best midfielder and is earning half of what Kamara and Tielemans are on. All this is, is his agent stoking the flames to get him a better deal.
Doubt this has anything to do with money for him, he never placed any bets so gained nothing from it. Not saying he's innocent but for all we know he's been pressured into doing it.
It was reported at the time that there was no release clause. So we won’t be selling for less than the market value, if he’s being sold at all that is.
