What if the players we bring in to replace them then become our best players?
Before Emery, most of us would have been happy enough to sell Konsa, Luiz, Mginn or Watkins. Emery has taken them to another level, no reason to believe he won’t do that with whom ever replaces them.
1 - He’s a bit part player
2 - Loan
3 - He plays for City, there isn’t another club in England on their level. Anywhere he goes will be a step down. Why not his boyhood club who are now in the CL
Not that I think it will happen, but if Grealish career is not heading in the direction he thought it would, and he’s looking to move somewhere and play some football to get back to his best. Unai Emery is literally the perfect manager to do that under.
Gordon has had a good season no doubt, he just works in Newcastle’s helter skelter system. That’s isn’t going to translate to international football.
Low blocks galore, and slower possession buildup style for England, Grealish literally tailor made for it
More potential PSR shenanigans going on at Stamford Bridge.
You have to kind of admire Bohley, he’s doing absolutely everything in his power to circumvent FFP and spend unlimited money
Or, they've been told by Chelsea to take it down? One of their favourite clubs are probably upset that they are broadcasting the fact the might need to make desperate sales in order to comply with PSR.
