    So, if we assume Luiz is gone and Barkley and McKennie are in. Next season midfield looks like: LM - Buendia/Ramsey CM - Tielemans/Barkley DM - Kamara/???????? RM - McGinn/McKennie

    Us signing McKennie make a lot more sense when you start thinking of him not as a replacement for Luiz but as competition for McGinn.

    Yep, totally different types of players, Gallagher is similar to McGinn.

    Gallagher looks to be getting a new contract, so zero chance he's coming now. Also he's not the same knid of player as Kamara, Gallagher is more like McGinn, and we're getting McKennie by the looks of it to cover SJM. Kamara is an awkward one to replace, he's pretty young himself so it's not a case of getting a young player to come in and learnt he ropes. I think we'll see a loan to come in as Kamara replacement then rotation, or as @useless said, some who can replace Luiz AND Kamara, would be an expensive signing whoever it is.

    De Ligt leaving Bayern. Surely he's United bound to link up with his former manager, they're also in desperate need of some centre backs.

    I think the Kamara DM backup/rotation is more urgent. Tielemans can play were Luiz played and the same role, only concern would be his injury record. I think after June 30th and more likely after Euros we'll see some big signings.

    Yep, will take a lot of the pressure off McGinn and allow him to be rested. Means we still need a Doug replacement because McKennie is not that guy, unless Tielemans or Barkley will play there?
