Really good signing for them. I'd imagine if they go down the like of him and Trippier have relegation release clauses in their contracts.

I've not heard about him, but that is big money for a 20 year old in League 1, he must be highly rated and I'd imagine he'll join up with U23s, cant imagine Carney would be too impressed with him coming straight into first team ahead of him.

I know it's been said before, but to go from signing players from Middlesbrough and Swansea... to Barcelona and Juventus is quite surreal. It feels like we are 5 years into a Football Manager save.

I'd be okay with selling him in summer if he doesn't sign a new contract, £25-£30m which could be re-invested. TBH selling DL and signing Bissouma AND Bentancur would defo be an upgrade in midfield.

Are we actually turning our noses up at players from Juventus? Don't forget Luiz has 18 months left on his contract, if he doesn't renew then he'll be gone in the summer, so getting Bentacur in now in Jan makes sense if it's to replace Luiz.

Suarez has scored 9 goals this season in all competitions, Ings and Watkins have scored 9 between them.

I'm confident SG could convince him to join, he'd be on big wages though. Would signal the end for either Ings or Watkins wouldn't it? three forwards for one position.

Signing a GK could be a bit of an issue. Anyone coming to us will have to be content with being number two. Would being number two at Villa be any different being number three at PSG?

It could just have been his agent stirring up interest from Villa to get a CL team to act quicker.

Exactly. He's the kind of signings we need to keep making each year to improve on what we have. A gradual improvement in key positions will transform the team from mid table to top 4 chasing.

Seems like he'll be signing for United. He'd walk into their midfield, so don't think he would choose us.

Look at Chelsea, their youth setup is starting to pay off. They have about 5 academy players in first team squad, 2 of which are arguably star players. It takes time, and not all of them will make it, but the ones that don't can be sold for profit.

RB isn't in need of an upgrade until DM and CB is sorted. I think we'll see KKH in squad for January at least, maybe a few sub appearances, and if he does well he can cover Cash the rest of the season.

If the academy players are good enough they'll get game time, if they aren't they'll be sold for profit, rinse and repeat.

My main concern with Bailey is his fitness, how many times has he been injured and we only signed him in summer?

Could Bailey play in a narrow front three? If he can't he's going to be a major issue for SG due to the money we spent on him, his fitness is a concern anyway.
