  1. That front 4 if playing well would be the best attacking line up outside the top 6.
  2. Something like this? Buendia------------Coutinho------------Bailey -------------------------Watkins-----------------------
  3. So what is your solution? Sack him now? End of season? You realize if Gerrard goes before start of next season, we aren't signing Coutinho?
  4. Yes, judge him after 50.
  5. So we have conceded 38% of our goals when he isn't on the pitch and conceded 62% when he is on the pitch. Interesting, not sure it re-enforces your point.
  6. He seems reluctant to change it up for whatever reason, even though a lot of the time it isn't working he persists with it. Our squad is tailor made for 4231 at the minute, which is the de facto best formation in football.
  7. Fair enough. But we have conceded many a goal in other matches with him on the pitch. Arsenal, Newcastle, 3 against Leeds, United, Brentford, 3 against Chelsea.
  8. Except he did play against Watford, he did play against Wolves and he did play against West Ham.
  9. The most likely scenario. If Suarez is signed, having Archer train with him for half a season and then go back on loan to the Championship, he'd be ready for Prem in 23/24, by which stage Watkins or Ings would have moved on.
  10. It would be a punt if he was about £15-20m, but Roma are looking upwards of £60m+. Not worth it, as we already have two strikers that would provide a similar output.
  11. I watch a fair bit of Serie A, and he has been good for Roma this season. But he's no better than Watkins IMO, and certainly not worth the amount Roma would now be asking.
  12. How about Nuno Espirito Santo?
  13. The bulk of the transfer budget in the summer should be spent on a DM, with Nakamba serving as backup/rotation.
  14. Replace all 3 CMs with 3 DMs, might get a few 0-0s at least.
  15. Even if he did maraud forward, can't be any more out of position than Douglas Luiz
  16. You could play without the two 10s, just means dropping Buendia or Coutinho: ---------------------------Martinez------------------------------- ----------Konsa-------Chambers---------Mings--------- Cash-------------MC---------------MC----------------Digne -----------------------------Coutinho----------------------------- ---------------Watkins-------------------Ings-------------------
  17. With the DM dropping to CB you wouldn't need 3 in midfield, 5221 or 5212 if playing with two strikers: ---------------------------Martinez------------------------------- ----------Konsa-------Chambers---------Mings--------- Cash-------------MC---------------MC----------------Digne ---------------Buendia------------Coutinho------------------ ----------------------------Watkins--------------------------------
  18. Exactly, he can play as the middle CB and step up to DM when in possession, drop back when not.
  19. I've suggested this as well. It wouldn't even be a massive departure from the current 4321, just drop the DM to form a back 3 and push the full backs into wing backs.
  20. I think we will see him and Watkins up front again, as Watkins on his own versus Spurs back 3, he'll be a passenger the whole game.
  21. We need to find a balance between proven winners and diamonds in the rough. SG is right in that we need to sign some proven winners to integrate in the team and hopefully change the mindset of some of the players. We can't just sign 11 unproven players and hope they turn good in a few seasons.
  22. Apart from Digne for £25M (which could be argued that his value was justified, as he was labelled as the best left back outside the 'Big 6'), we've signed Chambers for Free and Coutinho and Olsen on loan. Doesn't seem to me like we are panic buying and overpaying.
  23. It's irrelevant what other strikers were available in January, the point was the overpaid.
  24. We were in relegation battles those seasons though.
