We need to be looking at more than just the one dimensional goals scored. Dennis has some of the best pressing stats in Europe's top 5 leagues.

If we are looking for a forward in the summer, and if Watford get relegated, Emmanuel Dennis could be a useful signing, and would be relatively cheap.

Could Coutinho play as a false 9, allowing to Buendia to play as the 10 (providing we play with two strikers). The Luiz thread had a good analysis of the Spurs game, because Coutinho doesn't press, Luiz had to vacate his position to press Bentencur. Buendia playing as the 10 would press more, allowing Luiz to concentrate on his role.

The first three aren’t really comparable to Gomez though. They were young players sold when Liverpool don’t really need to sell, they were overpriced and had buy back clauses in case they came good. Gomez is an injury prone fourth choice centre back.

Apart from Coutinho and Suarez, the only other player the sold for big money was Torres. They’ve had plenty of transfer flops too, Andy Carroll, Benteke.

There is 0% chance we get Nunez. Benfica want €80m for him. He’s beyond our reach.

Well if SG wants him, he’ll go for him. So would you rather pay £10m + instalments that might never be paid? Or £30m up front?

What if it was some sort of structured deal where they get a certain amount only if he plays a certain amount of games? For example £10m up front, further £5m after 25 games, further £5m after £50, further £5m after 75 games, or something along those lines?

Well he could do that without spending £25 on Madueke, as we have plenty wingers sitting on the bench.

I think he'll be forced to tweak the system due to the players available. He'll need width on the left, so could see Coutinho out wider or perhaps Bailey.

If Digne is facing an extended period on the sideline, how likely is it that we see a change of formation? No way can SG expect Young to perform the same role as Digne for 90 mins. Will likley require a more conservative approach from the left back, with possibly someone playing a bit wider on the left.

I can't imagine NSWE are happy that two of our most expensive attacking signings are sitting on the bench week in week out.

His 20 minute cameo vs. Everton was probably the best performance by a single player for us this season bar Coutinho vs. United or Ramsey vs. Leeds.

That's my biggest gripe with him, his reluctance to change things when they aren't working and persisting with the narrow 433 in some game that it clearly wasn't working. Especially when we are over encumbered with wingers.

Definitely gone. Better to sell now and reinvest rather than lose for free next summer.
