  1. So you want to sell our two £30m strikers, and replace them with 1 who is better for roughly the same price?
  2. If they got promoted they might sign him permanently, just stick a buy back clause in just in case.
  3. New manager will probably pick 6 points up against us now
  4. Good point, never though about other teams. Good quality strikers are few and far between.
  5. I'd be reluctant to sell both in the same window.
  6. They should get a chance next season though with 5 subs
  7. Lampard's includes an FA Cup win against Boreham Wood.
  8. We might have an idea who that is by who's missing from the game vs. Brentford tomorrow.
  9. The 4-3-1-2 seems to be the best system SG has used so far, I much prefer it to the 4-3-2-1 with two 10's. I wonder if it was altered slightly to a 4-1-3-2 with the central CM staying back as a DM, and the 10 sitting deeper in central midfield. Luiz was advancing out of position too much to press their midfield, which should have been the AM job.
  10. We should see Nakamba back hopefully.
  11. In a way that was Smith's undoing.
  12. Seems like he is a playmaker, maybe being scouted as a replacement for Luiz.
  13. I wouldn't go by 'reports' on who we are going to sign. The Ings and Chambers transfers showed us that we keep our business quiet until the deal is almost done, which is even more crucial now with Newcastle likely in the same market as us. I think we'll see a couple of signings not even mentioned in the media.
  14. Could just be second season syndrome. He was so good last season and linked up with Grealish perfectly.
  15. His contract is up in June, so who is the £20m going too?
  16. We already were a mid table premier league side.
  17. I think that was highlighted in that twitter thread analysis of the Spurs game. Countinho didn't press Bentancur so Luiz had to, leaving too much space. Although Coutinho was excellent that game, Buendia would have been much more effective pressing their DM.
  18. I think the likes of West Ham would be more attractive than us currently, especially if they lose Rice, Wolves if they lose Neves or Newcastle as they'll pay more. He won't be choosing us if he has those options, especially if we finish below Brighton, which is a possibility.
  19. Does it really matter where he plays? We likely won't get him if we finish below Brighton.
  20. Who'll be gone first? Boris Johnson or Steven Gerrard?
  21. Mane is one example, sure. But that isn't the case for every transfer. Using Liverpool as an example, the signed an injury prone 29 year old Thiago, not much sell on potential as you say, but sometimes you have to take the risk.
  22. Selling a player because they get a mega offer from two of the most prestigious teams in football is not the same as buying a player to make him better with the intention of selling him as soon as a bigger club comes in for him.
  23. That's a selling club mentality, we'll never break top 6 with that.
  24. Seems like it would be well suited to Bailey. -------------------Luiz---------------------- McGinn----------------------Ramsey ----Buendia---------Coutinho------- -----------------Bailey---------------------
