Let's hope so, as they have both been very wasteful this season. No point having players like Coutinho and Buendia creating chances if your strikers couldn't hit a barn door. But I agree about not selling Watkins, especially to a direct rival in West Ham.

He would be a good signing. I seen someone on Twitter mention Watkins might possibly have a sell on fee with Brentford, if that's true would need to be a big offer or no point selling.

Fingers crossed he signs a new deal, maybe Coutinho signing will convince him and guarantees he'll be played in his preferred position.

I can’t think of anyone in Premier League who we could get for that money who would offer the same or better. We would have to go abroad, which is itself a risk and no guarantees they would adapt to the PL. Watkins is two goals behind Sterling, who is Man City’s top scorer in PL.

That's probably the only way Luiz signs a new deal, with a promise he'll play as an #8 as we are signing a new #6 with Nakamba as back up.

There's a bit of a difference in making a mistake against Real Madrid in a CL semi-final, and making mistakes against every other week in the Premier League. No defender plays perfectly every match, even VVD and Dias will make mistakes now and again, but they don't do it regularly. If Mings never made mistakes, and was the perfect defender, he wouldn't be playing for us.

I think people just think if we spend £60-70m on a striker all our goal scoring worries will be over, and that player will bang in 20+ goals.

Especially noticeable last night, as Matip and VVD are two of the tallest defenders in the league, they won every hoof ball.

I think it's clear now we need a striker who can finish. Watkins wasn't bad, Ings didn't have a good game (missed two sitters then scored the harder chance that was offside). We created enough chances to score 2 or 3 goals last night. No point in having Coutinho or Buendia creating loads of chances if we have no one to put them away. Would Archer have put those chances away? If not we need to spend on a striker.

Not been as solid this season, but we had one of the best defenses in the league last season, you don't just turn bad overnight. I think if we had another good CB and a good DM we would be more solid at the back. I'd keep Mings, left footed CBs are hard to come by.

I thought he was good at breaking up play and winning the ball back. But as soon as he done that he suddenly didn't look comfortable with the ball, and either was tackled or misplaced a simple pass. If he had the passing ability of Luiz he'd be perfect.

His long balls, along with Emi and Mings were being ate up all day by Matip and VVD. Just wasted possession every time

I thought he was okay. Few good runs and linked well with Digne. If he had a couple decent midfielders behind him would give him a free role to do what he wants.

I was told Nakamba was Makalele, and everything would be okay when he came back from injury.
