Better is debatable, but he is younger so perhaps will get better in time. I was looking at his stats this season, and they are very similar to Ollie. I did notice a player called Martin Terrier, he's 3rd top scorer in Ligue 1, and his stats are much more impressive this season than David. Have never heard of him or seen him linked with anyone.

Seems like a good player, has 3rd most interceptions in Eredivise and 2nd most tackles winning possession.

They are very similar, and David is younger so could possibly improve. TBH signing David would mean we are selling Watkins.

He'd cost quite a bit, and i'd imagine he'll be following Ten Hag to United, also he plays as a winger.

This is the reason he should have been out on loan, it would have served his development better playing a full season in the Championship rather than a few cameos off the bench.

Won the league last season with Lille, is younger than Watkins and probably has a higher ceiling. He's only scored 3 goals in 2022 though, so doesn't seem like he's having as good a season as last year.

There's always exceptions of course, the difference being that those two players were first team ready and established their place in the first team, so didn't need to go out on loan.

He won't get 'trapped in the loan system', if he's good enough. The players that do get stuck going out on loan, aren't good enough for where there clubs are at. Looks at Chelsea at the weekend, 3 academy players in there starting line up, 1 off the bench. All four of them spent time out on loan before breaking into the Chelsea squad.

I think Gerrard would be happy with Watkins, Ings, Archer and then maybe Suarez on a free. If Ings and Watkins aren't doing it up front , then you bring on Archer and Suarez.

He should, why can't he do what practically every other player his age does and go out on loan to get minutes and first team experience?

Probably the reason we will see Archer stick around rather than going straight out on loan, at least until January.

You seem to be omitting the fact that the La Liga club won La Liga last season, and are a regular fixture in the knockouts of the CL

Are we sure we want to risk having Gerrard without his man Beale? Especially since he’s about to spend big in another month.

It’ll be hard to shift him as he hasn’t played. If we’ve scouted some other Marseille players other than Kamara, I’d use Sanson as part of any deal.
