Free transfers can be signed from January onwards. Matip to Liverpool for example was announced in February. The big names that have yet to be announced this year are negotiating with multiple clubs for the best offer. If Suarez was as nailed on as you say it would be announced already.

I agree, but the players are not going to be motivated to prevent that from happening. Nor are they going to be motivated to help their managers old club win a league.

I would've assumed he might start Olsen this game anyway, just so he makes at least 1 appearance.

Yeah, they seem to be linked with everybody. I think they are at most risk of dropping out of the 'big 6' so to speak. Losing out on CL is a massive blow, and I can see Newcastle overtaking them in a couple seasons.

McGinn is in the same boat as Luiz for me, if we get a good offer sell him. He's also similar to Luiz in that he'll probably look a lot better in a better team with a different system and better players around him, and we'll look like mugs for selling him.

Won't be fit again until September, so won't be sold in summer. Can see him going in January if we do sign a good CB, as he'll struggle to get back into team ahead of new CB and Chambers.

Defo worth giving 'WatkIngs' another season if we are going to stay with two up front. I don't like the idea of selling Watkins to a direct rival like West Ham, even if it's for good money. They are in the exact position we want to be, so should not even entertain the idea of strengthening them.

I agree, just though it was strange. I would still expect Konsa to have made more tackles than a full-back who left halfway through the season. Also it's a bit of a pointless stat, as teams at the bottom make more tackles on average than teams on top. For example Rodri has made less tackles than McGinn, I know which one i'd pick though.

Not really surprising he has the most tackles, as he's one of the outfield players with most appearances this season. Be hard for Sanson to have as many tackles considering he's on the bench every week. What is surprising about our tackles throughout defense and midfield though is that our defenders have very few apart from Cash. For example Targett has made more tackles than Konsa, something not right there when a player who has left in January has more tackles than your first choice centre back.

This is why I think we need two #6 this summer, and out and out #6 to replace Nakamba, and a #6/8 like Bissouma who can replace McGinn, allowing JJ to bomb up and down.

We've lost our goal threat from out wide, as the full-backs are not providing the goals we would have got from wide forwards, so we are relaying on goals from the strikers and central midfield areas.

The 3421 and 3412 are not that far removed from our 4321 and 4312. All you need to do is drop the DM into the back 3 and push the full-backs up a bit.

We need a new CB, LB cover, two #6, a #8 and possibly a #9. Gonna be a busy summer.

We can't start the same midfield 3 vs. Burnley and the same 3 vs. City, the games are too close together. I can see a rotated midfield vs. Burnley, be nice to see Carney get a start.

The modern definition of a 'striker' has changed. While Salah, Son and Sterling are not traditional centre forwards, they are forwards who's job is to score goals.

He'll have to make a few changes to the lineup in this game, if he doesn't he'll have to vs. City as it's only 3 days later.
