Probably more comparable to the Carney situation rather than Grealish. Jack had signed a 5 year contract so we got maximum value, Carney will have to be sold if he doesn't extend his contract.
Phillips is a good player, would have had a reasonable price tag if Leeds went down as he'd be cheaper. But the English tax isn't worth it, better value to be had abroad.
Apparently he'd like to go back to Marsielle but they are unlikely to be able to afford him. He has only two years left on his Arsenal contract, so I reckon they'd sell if they got a good offer.
He'll have slowed down for sure, but I don't think he was ever really considered a fast player, that wasn't one of his strengths. It's his movement in the box, you don't lose that regardless of age. I don't think he could play as a loan striker for us, but he would definitely benefit playing alongside the likes of Watkins and Buendia. There movement and runs would create space for him, I see him as more of a poacher.
I'm sure he misses his far share, but Ollie and Ings are missing sitters my granny could score. I'd be interested to see Suarez play with Watkins up front, I think Watkins runs would create a lot of space for a player like Suarez to exploit, so he wouldn't necessarily need pace to get into scoring positions.
Right, so he's an effective threat coming off the bench? There 2nd top scorer playing mainly as a sub, sounds like what we need.
Ings and Watkins missing sitters? Bring on Suarez. Chasing a goal? Bring on Suarez.
Despite this he is Atletico second top scorer in the league with 11 goals, 1 behind their top scorer who has 12. Perhaps the issue isn't Suarez but they way Atletico play?
I don't think Mertens is any more mobile than Suarez, and they have the same amount of goals. Belotti has less goals than both
Archer might not be ready and Davis isn't good enough.
