  1. Yes, they are in their late 20s/early 30s now, but they weren't when they signed. Henderson was 20 when he joined Liverpool.
  2. Gerrard obviously isn't happy with the mistakes that are costing us goals, it's encouraging that we are aggressively recruiting for defense and midfield.
  3. We are going all in, targeting CL quality players. I think Newcastle coming into money has probably ignited this drive.
  4. He's a tad pricey, and a bit older than you'd like. But him and Kounde have been absolutely solid for Sevilla.
  5. He only has 4 yellows and 1 red, Kounde has more reds i'm assuming you wouldn't turn him down?
  6. Maybe you don't watch enough Sevilla matches? He's a starting centre back for a team that qualified for the CL and conceded the least amount of goals in the league.
  7. Was impressed with him in the Europa Final, looked calm and composed. He made a few mistakes but recovered well. Would be a decent backup to Mings eventually replacing him.
  8. Just seen that, it is indeed strange if he's as good as they say. Only ever been capped at the Olympics.
  9. We aren't signing Tarkowski on £120k a week as cover, that's the same money as Coutinho.
  10. I get that, but you equally can't have a team of 29-30 year olds. If we sign a 29 year old defender, weather it's Tarkowski or Carlos, we need to sign a 22-23 year old preferably Lacroix or Botman to keep the balance.
  11. There is a difference in signing players for the future and signing young players who are good enough now. Look at Konate at Liverpool, he's 22 and one of the best defenders in the league, Ruben Dias is 25. We need to be signing players in the 22-25 age bracket, who are good enough to go straight into first team (Kamara for example), that's how you future proof your squad. Not signing two 29 year old defenders to replace your 29 year old.
  12. Botman has a much higher ceiling at only 22. Ideally i'd take Carlos and Botman.
  13. Can't see this and Tarkowski, if we sign both, Mings is gone I reckon.
  14. We have not played a double pivot under Gerrard, and won't next season. Also Spurs play aback 3.
  15. Bissouma over Phillips for me, he’d be cheaper at least.
  16. Unless your first name is Matt, last name Targett.
  17. New CB, Kamara, Bissouma, Coutinho and new striker, that’s a very good window and transforms the team.
  18. I think it’s better than Luiz signing, I always got the impression that City were okay with selling him. I know he’s played for Brazil but he isn’t a starter.
  19. I think that’s harsh on Belotti. He’s hit double figures in all but this season for Torino, and he’s played for Torino teams that are at best mid table and at worst relegation candidates.
  20. Replace might be the wrong word. We need other options, and should look to upgrade if someone better is available. Their needs to be competition for places.
  21. If we do sign Tarkowski, that’ll be us done with CB I reckon. But I’d prefer we go for a younger player with a higher ceiling, like Lacroix or Botman.
  22. With Konsa injured he won't be going anywhere until January at the earliest. Chambers has already been in and out of the starting line-up, so has shown he is up for fighting for his place and has done well when called upon. I would be happy enough with Mings, New CB, Konsa and Chambers as our 4 defenders. Would like us to make a statement signing for the other CB.
  23. But Konsa and Chambers are better than Hause, so on of them can be back up.
  24. Probably more comparable to the Carney situation rather than Grealish. Jack had signed a 5 year contract so we got maximum value, Carney will have to be sold if he doesn't extend his contract.
