Exactly. He's the kind of signings we need to keep making each year to improve on what we have. A gradual improvement in key positions will transform the team from mid table to top 4 chasing.

Seems like he'll be signing for United. He'd walk into their midfield, so don't think he would choose us.

Look at Chelsea, their youth setup is starting to pay off. They have about 5 academy players in first team squad, 2 of which are arguably star players. It takes time, and not all of them will make it, but the ones that don't can be sold for profit.

RB isn't in need of an upgrade until DM and CB is sorted. I think we'll see KKH in squad for January at least, maybe a few sub appearances, and if he does well he can cover Cash the rest of the season.

If the academy players are good enough they'll get game time, if they aren't they'll be sold for profit, rinse and repeat.

My main concern with Bailey is his fitness, how many times has he been injured and we only signed him in summer?

Could Bailey play in a narrow front three? If he can't he's going to be a major issue for SG due to the money we spent on him, his fitness is a concern anyway.

Depends how far Mali get, and any potential quarantine time he may have to do upon returning.

Hopefully with Coutinho and now Digne confirmed, we have better service for Watkins/Ings. 9 goals between them is pretty pathetic for £60m worth of forwards.

With Coutinho on board, and now Digne, Watkins and Ings really need to start returning some goals. No excuses now.

Hopefully this spurs Matt on to fight for his place, having a good back up is massive. I do wonder how Matt would fare with Coutinho in front of him, he was excellent with Grealish in fromt last season.

Agree with this 100%. If Europe is out of our reach, and we aren't going to be dragged into a relegation battle, if those players don't end up going on loan then they should get considerable game time in the form of rotated appearances and sub appearances.

I think the Alvarez boat has sailed, has gone quiet and teams like Bayern, Ajax and Milan are interested now. We should have struck before he started making a name for himself.

Coutinho and now looks like Digne is all but confirmed, KKH recalled from loan to cover RB. How many more signings would you expect in Jan? Could do with cover at Centre-Back, even if it's a loan. A DM?

I'd imagine he has a nice relegation clause tucked into his contract, as will most players they sign this window. The problem is, if the go down and have a new squad on huge contracts, regardless of how much money their owners have they'll do well to meet FPP in the Championship if they can't get rid of some of these signings.

LB and CD (Loan) are realistic for January, a DM is surely a must in the summer, hopefully they have a few lined up. If we don't get a CD in January to replace Tuanzebe, would Bogarde be able to step up to cover the rest of the season?
