  1. Plenty of good players made good managers back in the day; Cryuff, Capello, Trapattoni, Ancelotti, Dalglish to name a few.

    Ezri Konsa

If we have a better season that is. Remember when we were all saying Konsa should be one of the first names in the England team? We've went from that to struggling to sell.
  3. I doubt he'll be looking to stay as back up to Cash if Strasbourg get into the Champions League.
  4. That would be the most likely scenario, if 'Project Gerrard' fails, both Gerrard and Purslow will get the boot.
  5. I'm sure he will manage them someday, I just don't see it while Liverpool are at the level they are at currently. They will have the pick of any manager in Europe within reason.
  6. If SG doesn't get us into Europe or at least wins a trophy, he isn't getting the Liverpool job in 2024. If Kloop decides to leave in 2024, Liverpool will have the pick of any elite manager in world football. Legend or not, the Liverpool owners won't pick Klopp's replacement on sentiment, you only have to look at Lampard and Ole to see that doesn't work at the level they are at.
  7. I thought he turned into Claude Makelele when he was out injured?
  8. I think when most people say 'winger's they mean it as wide players in general, not that they are traditional out and out wingers. Bailey and Traore are traditionally wide players, Buendia can play wide or as a 10.
  9. And considering we don't play with the wingers we have already, I doubt we are going to spend £50m on another one.
  10. I was under the impression that the tactics were mainly down to Beale and the other coaches, SG was more the face of the coaching team and motivator. Anyway, this system is so inconsistent due to the players we have at the minute. One game we look brilliant, then next game we completely fall apart. A good manager would be able to adapt the system to fit the players he has, not shoehorn players in who don't fit. I'd go 4231 or 433 next game and try and make use of some of the wingers we spent £100m on.
  11. How long will SG be given? Not saying he should be sacked, but if we are in the same boat this time next season floating about mid table after spending another £100m+.
  12. Doubt he's going there either, but they are at least in the quarter finals of the Europa League and fighting for a European spot in the league.
  13. Nunez for £50m is a bit optimistic. Benfica want at least £60m for him, and he is never coming to us over Champions League teams.
  14. He should have been sent out on loan in January.
  15. Yikes. American 'soccer' commentators are cringe though.
  16. Not to mention he's on £200k a week, doubt he'd reduce that to sign with us.
  17. Well he looks like he can't be arsed any time I watch him play for United, weather that's pressure or lack of motivation I don't know. But i'd avoid as he'd cost a fortune and is on astronomical wages at United.
  18. If he can't be bothered to play for United, what makes you think he'd be motivated to play for us?
  19. £15m would probably be about right, not too expensive by todays standards (cheaper than Wesley ffs).
  20. How about Breel Embolo? Looks good for Switzerland and Gladbach.
  21. I think a loan next season is crucial to his development, a full season with a Championship team playing regularly. I'd also like to see him feature as an impact sub the rest of this season, considering we have effectively nothing to play for.
  22. Dortmund also have a high turnover of players moving to bigger cubs when they break through at Dortmund. So signing Carney in summer, he'd get games eventually if not next season when players are moved on.
  23. Young in life yes but not in football, he's about to enter his prime in a couple of years.
