  1. It's been a good learning curve for him. Hopefully get to see him in pre-season, and if he's not quite ready a full season with Preston again.
  2. Well they do have a manager, Ralf Rangnick. United sign players regardless of who the manager is, it's the main reason they are in the mess they are in.
  3. I see McGinn linked with United this morning? Cash in and sign Gallagher perhaps?
  4. I'd imagine the SG would say he needs a player in a certain position, Lange and the recruitment team would present a number of achievable targets, make offers/inquire, then SG would have final say to go ahead. I could be talking rubbish though, who knows.
  5. Surely as Sporting Director, it will be Lange that is spending the money? I'm sure SG will have identified what areas of the squad need strengthening, and may even have some input. But it's pretty naïve to think the club are just giving him a cheque book and say "Have at it Stevie."
  6. Or a 4231, with two holding mids and 3 attacking mids
  7. Hickey would be a great signing, he's both footed so can play either left or right. Biggest issue is convincing him to come and be a backup to Digne or Cash.
  8. The here and now is what is needed to break the top 6. Liverpool, City, Chelsea etc. sign players that improve their squads now, not in 3 or 4 seasons, they don't worry about signing a 28 year old because they won't turn a profit. That's selling club mentality.
  9. If we have a truly abysmal end to the season and SG gets sacked, then Purslow would get the boot too I reckon. Then it's another backroom overhaul and another season down the drain.
  10. Then we will need to invest in some full-backs in the summer as well as a CD and DM. We can't go into next season with only Digne and Cash, first choice though they might be. Hopefully pre-season KKH can be assessed if he is good enough for a back up role to Cash next season.
  11. It would benefit Archer immensely training with Suarez everyday (minus the biting and racist remarks).
  12. Definitely a worry, if Nakamaba doesn't immediately play like prime Makelele then serious questions will be asked as to why he's persisting with this system if he doesn't have the personnel.
  13. That front 4 if playing well would be the best attacking line up outside the top 6.
  14. Something like this? Buendia------------Coutinho------------Bailey -------------------------Watkins-----------------------
  15. So what is your solution? Sack him now? End of season? You realize if Gerrard goes before start of next season, we aren't signing Coutinho?
  16. Yes, judge him after 50.
  17. So we have conceded 38% of our goals when he isn't on the pitch and conceded 62% when he is on the pitch. Interesting, not sure it re-enforces your point.
  18. He seems reluctant to change it up for whatever reason, even though a lot of the time it isn't working he persists with it. Our squad is tailor made for 4231 at the minute, which is the de facto best formation in football.
  19. Fair enough. But we have conceded many a goal in other matches with him on the pitch. Arsenal, Newcastle, 3 against Leeds, United, Brentford, 3 against Chelsea.
  20. Except he did play against Watford, he did play against Wolves and he did play against West Ham.
  21. The most likely scenario. If Suarez is signed, having Archer train with him for half a season and then go back on loan to the Championship, he'd be ready for Prem in 23/24, by which stage Watkins or Ings would have moved on.
  22. It would be a punt if he was about £15-20m, but Roma are looking upwards of £60m+. Not worth it, as we already have two strikers that would provide a similar output.
  23. I watch a fair bit of Serie A, and he has been good for Roma this season. But he's no better than Watkins IMO, and certainly not worth the amount Roma would now be asking.
  24. How about Nuno Espirito Santo?
