  1. I don't think it will happen this window TBH. If for instance the rumours to Barca are true, and Carney has had his head turn by them, he will wait to sign for them for free next summer, even if someone like Newcastle or West Ham bid for him now.
  2. Everything that's been "stated" is all just rumours. No club has made contact about buying him this window.
  3. How is that 100% fact? There is every possibility he sees the end of his contract out and leaves next summer.
  4. Exactly. The club should have had a time limit on when the contract is still available, and withdrawn if he hasn't signed. Then he can shop about with no fall back offer.
  5. As you say, he may not have rejected the offer, but it's been on the table for 9 months which tells us he has no intentions of signing it if he can get something better, meaning he does not want to be here, the contract offer should be withdrawn if that's the case. Also if he hasn't signed by the end of the transfer window, we won't be able to sell him, as he is free to speak to clubs in January, so they aren't going to pay a fee for him when they can sign him for free.
  6. Konsa is in the main team ahead of Mings? No Buendia
  7. Very cryptic from SG, it's clear that we are still looking for players to improve the first team, but not necessarily this window.
  8. Gonna be fun on VT when he's on the bench against Bournemouth
  9. Yep, sounds like he's going to run his contract down. No fee, but means we get another year from him and will add to squad depth. Seems to be more common now, players running contracts down. We can't really complain, as we signed Kamara that way.
  10. Looks like Davis is injured, doubt he'll be going anywhere this window.
  11. Not much we can do. We can't cave into to every demand from a youth player, need to put the foot down at some stage and show youth players they can't demand what they want no matter how good they are. Our youth system is the best it's ever been, I think Carney will quickly be forgotten as soon as a new player bursts onto the scene.
  12. DO you think we will buy someone or will Archer cement his place?
  13. I get what you're saying, is he good enough to do that in the Premier League though? I think he was playing at his level for Forest in the Championship.
  14. In what way would Davis 'change the game' but Archer wouldn't? Presumably if Archer came on and scored it would change the game somewhat?
  15. True, Cash is ever present. He played all 38 games this season, it will be a tough ask for him to repeat that though without fatigue or injury, with a World Cup thrown in the middle for good measure.
  16. Forgot about him. KKH should be getting preference over Young IMO.
  17. Archer is perfect if we play with two up front, start with Watkins and Ings, if one isn't playing well bring Archer on. He'll be hungry to impress with 30 or 20 mins game time.
  18. If Guilbert is staying i'd give KKH a loan move. But if Guilbert goes before the end of the window, KKH stays to cover Cash.
  19. The top 6 will. Man City with £300m worth of players on the bench can bring on 5 new outfield players if they find themselves drawing or a goal down. It will be useful to give minutes to young players and back ups like Sanson.
  20. I think he'll stay as as 3rd striker, he'll get plenty of game time with 5 subs.
  21. Difficult situation for SG, who do you drop? the biggest name in the team and mate, or the teams record signing and (probably) best player?
  22. So do we look better with two strikers and one 10? Was the case last season, from memory we didn't play well with two 10s and one striker.
  23. Surely Gerrard should be well equipped to break down 10 men? It's what he faced every week in the SPL with the exception of Celtic.
  24. Missing the game as i'm at work, but it sounds awful. How many will United stick past us?
  25. Judging by the team sheet for todays match, looks like McGinn and Kamara in a double pivot. Be interesting to see how that works, Kamara the more reserved with McGinn given more license to go forward. Could be a step away from the 3 man midfield, possibly being used against weaker teams.
