I wonder did he see on social media after the fake news he was sacked, that 99% of the fanbase want him gone. No way back from that IMO, barring a 10 game winning run.
I’m probably setting myself up for disappointment hoping we get Poch. But a quick search online and it appears his two long time assistant coaches Miguel d’Agostino and Jesús Pérez are both available. They’ve been with him since Espanyol.
Plus if he manages to get us into Europe, he’ll have another tick on his CV. And if a Real or Bayern come calling, they’ll have to pay a hefty compensation fee.
He wasn’t my first choice. But I gradually came round to the idea of him taking over. Obviously that has turned out to be a disaster. We need to get the next one right.
Wolves are now without a manager nearly 3 weeks. After Lopetegui deal falling through, they are going to end up panicking and making the wrong appointment
If Poch is waiting until after the World Cup, it means he’s waiting for something better.
There will be jobs available as the managerial merry go round springs into action.
Which means we are not his preferred option.
Taking nothing away from Emery, as he done a fantastic job at Sevilla winning an historic 3 Europa Leagues in a row. A big part of there success though was the recruitment from Monchi. I suspect Lange would fall short in matching that, if Emery were to take charge of us.
But if we are genuinely interested in Poch or Emery, and they are even a tiny bit interested. You’d move heaven and earth to get them and get rid of the manger 99% of fans want rid of.
What about the fact he said he would pick players on merit, and then refuses to drop players (McGinn, Watkins, Coutinho) who are underperforming. Constantly dropping Buendia for the underperforming Coutinho. Sanson hasn’t played a single minute. Archer barely features. He’s looking for solutions to problems he’s created himself.
