To be fair, Sporting themselves paid 15m euros to Braga, which makes him 5th most expensive and an insane amount for a Portuguese team to pay never mind a PL team.
Maybe there is something there worth investing in.
He's oversaw two managerial appointments so far:
Dean Smith: Good
Steven Gerrard: Bad
That's 50% success rate so far. I'll give him the next one before looking him gone.
One thing I will say for Amorim, he brought through some youth players at Sporting. Would be interesting to see what he could do with our academy players.
It would be a huge statement; in fact, it would be the most ever paid for a manager, the record which is currently Nagelsmann to Bayern for £21m, recently equaled by Potter to Chelsea.
This is my concern with Frank. He's in a good setup at Brentford, moving him to Villa Park doesn't mean that setups comes with him.
I think he would struggle with our current players, it would take a few windows to get the team right.
Gallardo not even in the betting. Can see why. He's the appointment we should have made after Dean, probably deemed too much of a risk now having not managed in Europe. Will likely end up in France, Spain or Italy now.
