  1. Roberto Martinez? He's not gonna leave Belgium before the World Cup.
  2. Ruben Amorim 10/11 Sean Dyche 9/2 Unai Emery 5/1 Mauricio Pochettino 6/1 Thomas Frank 8/1 Michael Beale 10/1 Domenico Tedesco 16/1 Marcelo Gallardo 16/1 Rafa Benitez 20/1 Roberto Martinez 20/1 Dyche second favourite now. Whoever is betting on him, stop it.
  3. No idea how we will line up for this one. At least we won't see a midfield of McGinn, Luiz and Ramsey.
  4. Some snippits from and Article in the Athletic regarding Amorim: Also important to him is the ability to give clear and simple instructions that make sense to his players. Some coaches might overcomplicate the game but Amorim would rather give simple instructions that are fully understood than complex instructions that are half-grasped. “Ruben is a coach that brings everyone together,” says Meneses. “From the players, administration, staff, everyone ‘buys into’ your idea. This is key to creating a winning mindset. He has a very strong personality but, at the same time, it does not fracture the group. With his strong leadership, he manages to unite and aggregate. He is very smart in human relationships and communication. These are Ruben’s strengths as a coach.” He already sounds like an upgrade on Gerrard in the man management side of things, nevermind the tactical side.
  5. Emery or Amorim for me. To show the comparison in experience between the two, Amorim actually started in the 2014 Europa League final for Benfica who were beat by Unai Emery's Sevilla side.
  6. I seen on Twitter that Mendes is trying to get Amorim to move on, so he can engineer a move for Ronaldo to Sporting.
  7. For me Amorim to us is similar to when Pochettino came from Espanyol to Southampton. Young inexperienced manager coming to another country. But if you're good, you're good.
  8. I mean the Portuguese league is certainly not the standard of the PL but let's not try and compare it to the bloody SPL. It's levels above Scotland.
  9. His English is excellent apparently. And we have Portuguese speakers in the team anyway.
  10. If we end up with Amorim, there is a couple players in that Sporting team I'd take a look at. Pedro Gonçalves and Gonçalo Inácio.
  11. Gallardo now 16/1 on SkyBet, wasn't listed before. How much money have you bet on him @messi11?
  12. Good comparison. Simeone had only ever managed Argentine clubs and a lower league Italian club before taking Atletico. The rest is history.
  13. It looks that way. He turned down Nice not long ago. Bought back down to reality. We have ambition, but are not seen to be in the top bracket..... yet.
  14. Does he look happy? Does he look settled?
  15. Buendia would absolutely thrive in Amorim's 343.
  16. You have to admit, it does have a nice ring to it.
  17. Can't wait to see Amorim's Aston Villa knock out Pocettino's Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16.
  18. Not a fan of Rodgers, he's very unlikeable. And besides, Leicester would snap our hands off for us to take him, they apparently can't afford to sack him
  19. What else should he be judged on? People are looking him sacked because he hired Gerrard.
