Has the bar been set so low by Gerrard, that there are fans prepared to accept 6 months or more of Dycheball to “keep us up” when we are two wins off 8th place?
This argument has already been debunked. Plenty of managers have played decent football on a small budget. Rodgers at Swansea, Martinez at Wigan, potter at Brighton. Also Burnley we’re in the PL for 10 years, they could have spent and changed their style. They didn’t. Because that’s all Dyche knows.
So if we don’t get Emery, and Amorim is considered too much of a risk and too expensive.
Or options are the manager who’s currently bottom of the league, or the manager who got sacked last season because his team were second bottom.
I think it would be a far bigger risk if we were in January or February. But we are two wins away from Top half, if he can get us playing the basics we will move up the table.
He was considered for PSG, United and Chelsea jobs. I don’t recall Sherwood or Garde being linked to jobs like that.
We either get Amorim now, or we don’t get him
We’re never the ones that risk it though. It’s always someone else who takes a chance on an upcoming manager or an unknown player. It’s why we’ve not finished in the top half of the Premier League in 10 seasons.
The last guy was appointed by his mate. And we had been told in advance that his assistant was the brains behind his success.
Amorim is not the same as Gerrard.
Makes sense. It would show some intent from our owners if we smashed the world record for a manager. We could have one of the best young coaches in Europe for the price as Wesley.
