Isn't he assuming that we were actually interested in Poch or Tuchel? Everything in the papers was just speculation. The fact we hired Emery after 4 days from sacking Slippy, and Sawaris apparently visiting him in Spain, suggests to me he was our first choice all along.

One thing I think he’ll help with. Those narrow defeats to the top 6 sides over the last 12 months. He’ll turn some of those into draws or wins.

The people saying that should go and have a look at the Arsenal squad that season, it was terrible bar a few players. Yet he managed 5th and a Europa final.

Just had a look at his Arsenal team, and I might be biased, but our team is better. With the exception of Aubamayang and maybe Ozil, that Arsenal team was terrible, and he still finished 5th and got to Europa final.

The 4231 really suits the squad currently, pity Gerrard couldn't see that. The width provided by Bailey and Watkins gave Buendia so much more room in the middle.
